  • Last week, we capped off this summer’s NextGen AI Fellowship cohort with our first-ever Pitch Day event! 14 of our 29 NextGen fellows delivered compelling 2-minute pitches in front of our incredible judging panel: Jeff Richards, Managing Partner at Notable, Claire Vo, founder of ChatPRD & Host of the “How I AI” Podcast, and James Cham, Investor at Bloomberg Beta. Our judges chose 3 winners: 🥇 Adam Elitzur for Songlingo: A language learning platform that turns the songs you love into lessons. 🥈 Ana Vizitiv for Greencentive: Transforming grocery store food waste into consumer savings & grocer profit with dynamic pricing powered by AI. 🥉 Ryan Haraki for Perception AI: Building security infrastructure to enable the AI-powered web. It was an amazing way to end the NextGen AI Fellowship, now in its 5th year. NextGen is a highly curated, 6-week summer program designed to develop the next generation of founders and help bring their boldest ideas to life. (Thank you to Esther Kim for leading this amazing cohort!) • Out of stealth! Excited to share that Notable Capital leads Echo’s seed round. Eilon Elhadad & Eylam Milner are operating like the proven, 2nd-time founders they are—they spent months in deep conversation with CISOs at Fortune 500 companies before writing a single line of code and nabbed paying enterprise customers before exiting stealth. Learn how they’re building vulnerability-free application infrastructure from the ground up on the Notable blog: https://xmrrwallet.com/cmx.plnkd.in/gSvZ4seF

Today, we're thrilled to announce our $125M Series C funding round at a $1.5B valuation, led by Meritech Capital, marking our third successful raise in just 12 months! fal’s Generative Media Cloud now powers tens of thousands of applications, supporting over two million developers and more than 300 enterprise customers. From initial prototypes to fully scaled production, we've become the essential infrastructure enabling some of the most innovative and creative work in the industry. 1 million developers. 100+ enterprise customers. Billions of AI-generated assets each month. fal’s momentum has been breathtaking. When Notable Capital led their Series B late last year, we were blown away by Burkay Gur & Gorkem Yurtseven’s relentless speed of execution. And it hasn’t let up—they’ve grown revenue more than 50% just in the last 2 months. We’re thrilled to continue partnering with the fal team in their $125M Series C. fal initially wowed us with their technical excellence—consistently running at up to 10x lower latency than competitors while processing 100M+ inference requests daily with 99.99% uptime. That foundation is still crucial, but fal has evolved far beyond just fast inference into a full-stack approach. As we look to the next chapter of fal, they’ve got huge ambitions to build the defining platform for the entire generative media ecosystem. Burkay & Gorkem have proven they have the chops to execute on that bold vision. • Like browsers made the web accessible in 1989, model context protocol (MCP) represents a fundamental evolution towards an AI-powered web—one where AI agents are first-class citizens. On the Notable Capital Blog, Rares Crisan makes the case that MCP is the infrastructure play behind Web3's promise of a decentralized, user-owned internet. 🎤 Reminder: we'll be live with Glenn Solomon from Notable Capital and Burkay Gur from fal.ai at 1pm PT/4pm ET today to talk about building an infrastructure for generative media, how people are using it, and why Notable helped finance it. Come and join us -- and ask your questions in the chat.

  • Web3 promised decentralization, user ownership, and interoperability. Model Context Protocol (MCP) might be the missing piece that makes it practical for the masses. The latest analysis from Rares Crisan explores why MCP represents the real Web3 opportunity—one that builds on existing infrastructure rather than replacing it. Investing in AI Apps at Notable Capital (fka GGV Capital)

The biggest misconception in voice AI right now? That better models will replace the need for voice AI infrastructure. I’ve spent the last few months deep in the weeds and I’m betting the opposite is true. After extensive research and capital deployment in Voice AI, I am convinced that speech-to-speech models will strengthen the case for voice AI infrastructure companies. It will not eliminate infrastructure needs. This simply changes what these companies need to build. While speech-to-speech models solve the core intelligence problem, they create new gaps in enterprise deployment. Consider the reality of voice AI in production environments: What models provide: Natural conversation logic, reduced latency, real time audio processing What enterprises actually need: Compliance frameworks, sophisticated integrations, operational tooling, advanced analytics, and evaluations. The demo-to-production gap remains wide. Getting a voice agent to work in controlled conditions is straightforward.   But deploying it reliably across mission-critical enterprise workflows with audit trails, CRM integrations, and regulatory compliance requires specialized expertise. As voice processing becomes commoditized, value shifts to platform orchestration that power vertical applications. It will be exciting to see which companies evolve quickly enough to capture the opportunity. Full article in the comments.
