There's a lot of discussion about Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) and credit reporting. But as today’s piece in the Wall Street Journal (https://xmrrwallet.com/cmx.plnkd.in/gwppBDyS) highlights, traditional credit scores don't always tell the whole story. At Block, we're not reporting Afterpay data to credit bureaus until we're certain it helps our customers build better credit scores. We want our customers to benefit from their good habits. 95% of Afterpay installments are paid on time, and nearly all are repaid without late fees. But today’s credit reporting system often doesn’t recognize that consistency. Until it does, we’re holding off on reporting Afterpay data because we believe on-time payments should help build credit, not hurt it. This isn't just about credit reporting. It's about building a financial system that recognizes how people actually earn, spend, and repay in real life. One that works better for everyone. "Congratulations! You're hired. Please send your bank details to start immediately" 🚩 Sound familiar? Recruitment scammers are getting creative, turning dream job offers into digital nightmares. They're mimicking real companies with sophisticated precision. But here's the thing, legitimate companies never ask for your financial information through messaging apps or demand immediate decisions. Our security team has seen it all and now they're sharing their playbook. We've created a guide to help you spot the red flags before they cost you. 🔒 Learn how to protect yourself: https://xmrrwallet.com/cmx.plnkd.in/e5-HQm9Q #JobSearch #CyberSecurity #CareerAdvice #TechJobs

It was standing room only last Wednesday evening as more than 200 fintech industry professionals gathered at the #Google Rooftop to network and listen to a panel debate on: The future of payments: how AI, embedded finance and personalisation are rewriting the rules. Organised by #Mainset in partnership with #Google, the debate was moderated by Ioto. Alongside Nick Fryer, Petru Metzger and Sophie Condie, I discussed the opportunities with AI, the issues within payments that still need to be resolved, the power of personalisation and how to remove barriers to moving money. A truly enjoyable conversation! Thank you to Ioto at Mainset and Karen Zhang and Adrian Blockus at Google for inviting Block to join the conversation.
Main Set was proud to co-host a vibrant summer #Fintech gathering alongside Google this week. Over 200 founders, operators, investors, and enablers from across the #Fintech ecosystem came together on Google's stunning rooftop to connect, share ideas, and discuss the future of the industry. The evening featured a packed-out panel on The Future of Payments - where we explored how #AI, #EmbeddedFinance, and #Personalisation are changing the game. The goal was simple: help people in #Fintech build more meaningful relationships. Judging by the conversations, collaborations, and clinks of wine glasses - it worked. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us - with a big thank you to our panel of #Payments experts (⬇️) and Google for hosting. Let’s keep building. Keep your eyes peeled for the next event in September - #Neobanking & #Neolending will be the focus! Please follow Main Set on LinkedIn to be kept up to date. 👀 Main Set | Ioto Iotov CA, CFA, CAIA, Ivan Wong, Dominique Swan & Jack Hogan Google | Karen Zhang, Adrian Blockus & Ronan Carter Panel | Samina Hussain-Letch (Block | Square), Nick Fryer (Dojo), Sophie Condie (Shieldpay) & Petru Metzger (Payforge)
