74% of executives agree that #generativeai is enabling them to create new forms of value for their organisations, according to HFS Research. This is because #genai enables us to automate tasks that were previously un-automatable (is that a word?) Take our VUX World podcast as an example. Imagine uploading an mp3, or streaming the audio while recording, to a gen AI pipeline that transcribes, diarises and timestamps the audio, then generates the following: 📹 YouTube video description 🎙 Podcast show notes and description ✏ Title, meta description and body copy for podcast web page 📊 A list of topics covered in the podcast 📝 A blog article for each of the topics, based on the transcript 🖋 Titles and meta descriptions for each blog post 🏞 Images for each article and for the podcast episode 🤳 Social media post copy to promote the podcast episode and each of the blog articles 📨 Newsletter copy to promote podcast and articles in weekly newsletter Then, imagine all of this is pumped straight into your CRM, social media management and newsletter tools. This is a process that we follow today and it takes a good few days to do the above. This process would be executed in a matter of seconds, excluding editing and publishing time, which I reckon we could get down to half a day. Now imagine all those processes within an average business that are now, all of a sudden, able to be automated. #ai #artificialintelligence #aiadoption

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗔𝗜 𝗵𝘆𝗽𝗲 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁? Hype is great to build excitement and quickly validate what the technology can do for your business. But the realism that not everything is possible and not everything is quite that easy is when you build solutions that will make it into production—or at least they should. 𝗟𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲 𝗥𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗺 (AI Lead at BASICO) joined me on “What’s the 𝘉𝘜𝘡𝘡?” this week. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲’𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁: - Assess the current AI adoption phase in the market between AI hype and disillusionment - Leverage the Generative AI momentum to drive business impact - Evaluate analysts’ forecasts to continue the AI momentum in business and focus on promising areas - Decide why to continue investing in AI solutions for business growth 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝗽𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗱𝗲: - Focus on delivering business value through AI and automation rather than fixating on Generative AI as a technology - Provide tangible examples and training for employees to become skilled users of AI-enhanced tools - Drive AI innovation while understanding and mitigating the risks - Countries like Denmark are leading the way in exploring Digitalization and AI, and are actively driving adoption In any of this, keep your users front and center, and provide them with training—and take a realistic approach how fast everyone will become “10x more productive.” Catch this episode on the "What's the 𝘉𝘜𝘡𝘡?" podcast tonight...👇🏻 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗔𝗜 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀? #ArtificialIntelligence #GenerativeAI #DigitalTransformation #IntelligenceBriefing - - - - - Join the waitlist for the AI Leadership Handbook via the link under my name. If you want to get into the AI game, you need to be thinking about it like it is more than just a tool. Leveraging machine intelligence is a new way of operating, and we continue to observe that the companies who are getting the most value out of AI have (a) identified specific, game changing business problems that it will help them solve, and (b) changed the way they operate to maximize data fluidity, incentivize new behaviors, change accountability structures, and challenge conventional thinking. Scaled value creation only arrives when leaders have constructed an ecosystem for AI to thrive. There are a number of paths you can take, but they all begin with a committed executive team and true conviction about the need to change and invest. I had a lot of fun chatting with Jason Foster about these observations AND what we’re seeing from the current winners in AI adoption on the Hub & Spoken podcast this week. Give it a listen and let me know your thoughts! https://xmrrwallet.com/cmx.phubs.la/Q02HXgmZ0

CEO Dario Amodei of Anthropic disclosed on the "In Good Company" podcast in late June that compute accounts for over 80% of their expenses. Does that mean running Anthropic costs $1B/year?👇 With approximately 600 employees and estimated average compensation of $250,000 (based on Glassdoor data), Anthropic's annual salary costs are around $150 million. Assuming 70% of compensation is cash, that's about $100 million in yearly cash salary expenses. If we estimate that salaries represent only 15% of total expenses (with 5% for other overhead), it suggests Anthropic's annual operating costs could be approaching $1 billion. This staggering figure contextualizes Anthropic's recent $7.3 billion fundraising efforts. It underscores the immense capital requirements for companies at the forefront of AI research and development. Key questions for our industry: 1) Is this level of spending sustainable in the long term? 2) How might this impact the competitive landscape in AI? 3) What strategies could reduce costs without compromising innovation? Recommended reading for LEADERS and L&D! We all know AI is the hot new thing, but it could be a double-edged sword when it comes to attracting and retaining top talent. According to this recent McKinsey podcast, employees who use AI tools regularly are high-value and in-demand, but also more likely to LEAVE (gulp!). The episode dives into why these AI-empowered superstars might be feeling restless, and more importantly, how to attract them in AND keep them loving what you have to offer. Plus, it explores how AI is fundamentally changing the whole "work" thing. Here's some food for thought: The secret weapon might not be all about the tech skills (using those fancy AI tools that I love so much). In my experience speaking and working with leaders to build AI-empowered teams, soft skills like problem-solving, creativity, critical thinking, and communication are the real key to unlocking the true power of AI. ️ Why? Because these skills ensure you're using AI for the right problems, not just the trendy ones. They also help you collaborate effectively with both AI and your colleagues (because let's face it, teamwork makes the dream work!). ADDED BONUS: These soft skills are like professional superpowers because the benefits reach ALL areas, not just AI. If you're holding out on AI - STOP IT! Help your people become AI-empowered and focus on building well-rounded teams with the skills to thrive in the future of work. Link to the McKinsey podcast summary is in the comments. #FutureOfWork #AI #McKinsey #SoftSkills #TalentAcquisition #LearningandDevelopment P.S. What is your organization doing to help empower people for AI? Is it enough? Add your comments below!
