Honoring Juneteenth | June 19, 2025 At United American Indian Involvement (UAII), we join communities across the country in commemorating Juneteenth—a historic day marking the end of slavery in the United States. As an Indigenous-serving organization, we reflect on the shared histories between Black and Native communities and our mutual pursuit of wellbeing, recognition, and equity. Juneteenth is a day to pause, remember, and recommit to creating a future where all communities can thrive. We honor the strength and contributions of our Black relatives—past, present, and future. #Juneteenth #IndigenousSolidarity #EquityInAction #UAII

Help us protect culturally rooted mental health care in California. The Governor’s proposed budget cuts $15 million in funding to the California Reducing Disparities Project (CRDP)—the largest, most effective behavioral health investment for Native, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+ communities. At UAII, CRDP supports our Drum, Dance & Regalia workshops, providing cultural healing and mental wellness to Native families across L.A. County. If cut, our clients will lose 6–12 weeks of critical services, and our ability to track program impact will be lost. This funding is part of existing contracts—its removal would cause immediate and devastating harm. Learn more here: https://xmrrwallet.com/cmx.plnkd.in/gXyd778U Contact your reps and demand restoration of CRDP funds. Our communities deserve care—not cuts. #HealthEquity #MentalHealthMatters

May 5th | MMIWG2S+ Day Today, we honor our stolen sisters, our daughters, our aunties, our mothers, and our Two Spirit relatives. We remember their names. We carry their stories. We hold space for their families. This day is a reminder that our voices will not be silenced — not until every relative is brought home, and every story is heard. To those missing, murdered, and never forgotten — we will never stop fighting for you. 🧡 #MMIWG2S #NoMoreStolenSisters #MMIW #UAII

Today, UAII came together in remembrance for MMIP Awareness Day—honoring our missing and murdered relatives through creating tobacco ties, hand-painting red hands, and sharing space to learn and reflect. ❤️ We uplift their stories, demand justice, and stand united for change. As an urban Indian organization, UAII remains committed to supporting Native individuals and families through culturally grounded health, wellness, and advocacy services—because healing, safety, and justice go hand in hand. #MMIPAwarenessDay #NoMoreStolenSisters #UAII
