  • This week’s story of impact takes us to Flat Rock Brook Nature Association, a nonprofit preserve that’s been connecting the Englewood community to the outdoors for over 50 years. Their mission? To maintain the 150-acre preserve as a natural sanctuary for plants and wildlife, as well as provide a nature preserve available to the public for trail walks, nature study and other passive recreation. With 75,000 annual visitors, 3.6 miles of trails, native wildlife and environmental education programs, Flat Rock Brook is a local treasure we’re proud to support. As part of their efforts to make nature more inclusive, Flat Rock Brook Nature Association is building a 700-foot ADA-accessible boardwalk, creating space for people of all abilities to connect with nature. Our employee volunteers helped bring this vision to life by laying frames and constructing parts of the boardwalk itself. “This project was a big undertaking for our small team, and having Samsung’s support made all the difference. Their enthusiasm, hard work and commitment helped us complete the boardwalk on time and create something truly meaningful for our visitors,” said Catherine Wedgbury, Land Manager at Flat Rock Brook. “Their volunteer efforts turned our commitment to accessibility into a tangible, lasting boardwalk—one that opens the preserve to more visitors, especially those with mobility challenges.” Together, we’re building more than trails—we’re building a community rooted in nature, inclusion, and stewardship for generations to come. • Rebuilding after a disaster doesn’t happen overnight—it takes time, care and the support of a community. We’re honored to play a small part in helping Pacific Palisades Charter High School get back on its feet by donating interactive displays through the LAUSD Education Foundation. With these tools, we hope to bring learning to life and empower teachers and students as they return to the classroom.

We often take it for granted—walking into a classroom and seeing working technology, ready for learning. But when disaster strikes, like the devastating Palisades fire earlier this year, it becomes clear just how essential those tools are. That’s why we’re so grateful to Samsung Electronics America for stepping up in a big way. Through the LAUSD Education Foundation, Samsung generously donated 60 WMBs—interactive whiteboard displays—to Pacific Palisades Charter High School. These powerful tools allow teachers to bring lessons to life and give students more engaging, collaborative learning experiences. Because of Samsung’s support, classrooms impacted by the fire will be ready to welcome students back with the technology they need to learn and lead. Thank you, Samsung Electronics America, for investing in our schools and our future.

  • Hey LinkedIn! Kareem Hassanien here 👋 This summer I've been working as an operations intern at the Mobile Experience office here in Plano, TX. thanks to the Plano Mayor's Summer Internship Program. Having the exciting opportunity to work at Samsung Electronics America this early in my career has been beyond worthwhile! During this internship I've gained incredible perspective having seen many facets of the company while working on impactful projects. My day-to-day requires me to interact with different teams to conduct in-depth analysis and strategic optimization of customer care KPIs using performance data trends, and supporting cross-functional initiatives to enhance the efficiency, scalability and standardization of the device repair process. One of the most rewarding aspects of this internship that I am grateful for is connecting with so many inspiring individuals. I've had 1-on-1 conversations with professionals across every department in the building, including executive and senior VPs of the company. Through these 1-on-1s I've heard so many awesome stories, built relationships and inhaled advice. The culture here has genuinely been nothing but welcoming, and having been able to see Samsung from the inside it is no surprise to me they are one of this biggest brands in the world. This internship has facilitated my growth and I am excited to tackle the next parts of my journey! Click through to see photos of myself working alongside the Mayor and other city counsel members. #SamsungIntern #PlanoTX Jasper Morse Suzanne De Silva
