Meet Christian, a Senior Program Manager on the Google Public Sector customer training team. In his role, he helps North American government agencies implement Google Cloud training by focusing on “meeting their unique needs, driving adoption and delivering measurable impact.” As a member of our Google Veteran Network (VetNet), he also supports veterans, service members and military spouses/partners with career advancement tools and advice. He even leads training sessions on leveraging free Google resources. Christian recently became the first person globally to achieve Google Cloud Generative AI Leader certification. This certification gives non-technical professionals the gen AI knowledge they need to boost efficiency at work and grow their careers. The free training is designed for all audiences, no matter their technical background. The certification “significantly deepened my understanding of how various elements and tools within gen AI work together, from foundational concepts to advanced applications and agents,” Christian explains. “It's empowered me to better connect the dots and apply these powerful, rapidly evolving tools for real-world impact.” Interested in learning more about the Google Cloud Generative AI Leader certification? First wildfire images from FireSat are here! 🔥🛰️ In partnership with Earth Fire Alliance & Muon Space, this revolutionary constellation is purpose-built for global wildfire detection and monitoring. The FireSat constellation will be able to detect a 5x5m fire anywhere on Earth within 20 minutes when fully operational — an unprecedented combination of high resolution & rapid revisit capabilities. FireSat’s infrared sensors pierce smoke & clouds, providing critical data from a wide range of fires: • Oregon, US: FireSat is equipped with a custom Mid-Wave Infrared (MWIR) sensor that detected a small roadside fire near Medford, Oregon last month — this fire was not detected by other satellite systems. • Ontario, CA: The data from FireSat can provide comprehensive insights throughout a wildfire’s lifecycle, as we saw in Ontario, where it picked up both active fires and previous fire burn scars. • Northern Territory, AUS: Multiple simultaneous wildfires can be detected across large landscapes, like in the Northern Territory in Australia, where FireSat detected a number of active fires scattered throughout the region. • Alaska, US: FireSat can provide critical near real-time wildfire monitoring in remote regions where ground-based observation can be difficult to achieve — it identified a fire in Alaska where the terrain is often inaccessible and extremely challenging to monitor for wildfires. This is a major step in the ongoing work of Google Research together with Earth Fire Alliance and Muon Space to improve how wildfires are detected and tracked around the globe. Meet Anuj, a Krakow-based software engineering intern pursuing a master's degree in data science. This summer, he’s working to improve Dataplex, a tool that helps organizations more effectively manage data. “My project leverages the power of natural language processing to make it even easier to use,” Anuj explains, “which will ultimately allow users to access data via user-friendly prompts.” What does he like about his summer work here so far? “Exciting opportunities, Google’s culture and the chance for growth,” he says. “Interning at Google not only allows you to put your technical skills to test, but it also enhances your soft skills, too.” Ready to explore our open roles and opportunities and make an impact like Anuj?
