Mission Technologies was awarded a $74 million task order to provide modeling and simulation capabilities to the U.S. Air Force that will inform technology-fielding decisions for the space community. “Modeling and simulation are central to the U.S. Air Force’s ability to meet its top priorities, particularly in the space domain, which presents a unique set of challenges,” said Michael Lempke, president of Mission Technologies’ Global Security group. REMUS 620 Clears Major Milestone for Submarine Launch Capability A joint team from HII, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) and U.S. Navy’s Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport (NUWCDIVNPT) recently completed a major milestone in advancing the U.S. Navy Submarine Force’s initiative to launch and recover autonomous undersea vehicles from submarine torpedo tubes. “This clears the way for continued testing in advance of an in-water end-to-end launch and recovery at a U.S. Navy test fixture facility later this summer,” said Adrian Gonsalves, HII’s REMUS 620 product lead.
