🔥 Talen Energy doubles down on powering the AI revolution with a $3.5 B gas plant acquisition in the PJM market 🔥 📍Locations: 1) Moxie Freedom Energy Center (~1,058 MW) in Pennsylvania 2) Guernsey Power Station (~1,875 MW) in Ohio Together, they add nearly 3 GW of combined-cycle gas-fired capacity to Talen’s portfolio in the PJM region. The acquisitions were completed for a total of $3.5 billion, with the deal expected to close in Q4 of 2025, the deal is expected to boost free cash flow per share by over 40% in 2026 and more than 50% thereafter. “This acquisition enhances Talen’s fleet by selectively adding modern, highly efficient baseload H-class CCGTs in Talen’s key markets, where we are an innovator in data center contracting,” said Mac McFarland, Talen president and chief executive officer. Meta will power Texas Data Centers with $900M Enbridge solar project. The 600MW Clear Fork project, located near San Antonio, is currently under construction, with an expected completion date of summer 2027. Meta will purchase 100% of the power generated by the facility. “We are thrilled to partner with Enbridge to bring new renewable energy to Texas and help support our operations with 100% clean energy,” Meta Head of Global Energy Urvi Parekh said in the release. “Clear Fork demonstrates the growing demand for renewable power across North America from blue-chip companies involved in technology and data center operations,” said Matthew Akman, Enbridge’s executive vice president for corporate strategy and president of power. In addition to these two projects, Enbridge is also constructing another solar farm just southeast of Abilene, Texas.
