🔥 Talen Energy doubles down on powering the AI revolution with a $3.5 B gas plant acquisition in the PJM market 🔥 📍Locations: 1) Moxie Freedom Energy Center (~1,058 MW) in Pennsylvania 2) Guernsey Power Station (~1,875 MW) in Ohio Together, they add nearly 3 GW of combined-cycle gas-fired capacity to Talen’s portfolio in the PJM region. The acquisitions were completed for a total of $3.5 billion, with the deal expected to close in Q4 of 2025, the deal is expected to boost free cash flow per share by over 40% in 2026 and more than 50% thereafter. “This acquisition enhances Talen’s fleet by selectively adding modern, highly efficient baseload H-class CCGTs in Talen’s key markets, where we are an innovator in data center contracting,” said Mac McFarland, Talen president and chief executive officer. Talen previously signed a PPA to supply Amazon Web Services (AWS) with 1.92GW of energy from the 2.5GW Susquehanna nuclear power plant Are you hiring for your infrastructure projects? Tom Watson Interesting to see how fast the digital energy stack is evolving. Aligning gas and nuclear around AI demand signals a shift in how portfolios are structured. PJM is quickly becoming a case study in speed, strategy, and infrastructure overlap.

Fractal, in Austin, TX, eliminates data centers via A.I. I/O optimization. Applications run 1,000 times faster, use less power than a microwave oven, and reduce IT costs 50% or more. Sustainable computing is here.

As our customers prove every day, there is no need for additional energy to provide for growing data centers. I/O optimization reduces the need a thousand fold: TheSustainableComputingInitiative.com

So unfortunate. Wasted Energy on Artificial? It's not Intelligence by a 🥰😊❤️👉 long shot.

So, combined cycle gas plants, which are arguably the most efficient on demand power generation plants, are only a little over $1000 per kw? That’s cheaper than solar that only works 1/4 of the time.
