It validates how any tech enablement within organizations will impact people, and that the business leader best positioned to help strategize and govern organizational change is the CHRO. As an HR leader, I am biased and think this is a great idea, but in my conversations with other HR leaders, I'm realizing this announcement had mixed responses. Like any business strategy, one size does not fit all, and the Moderna model is not for all organizations. However, we’re in a defining moment in that technology is changing HR operations and the employee experience (EX). HR leaders already leverage software to run their functions, however AI is ushering in a new era. Some CHRO’s manage their own tech stacks and budgets while others partner with the CIO and share governance. Jill Barth HR Tech Editor in HR Executive interviews Saket Srivastava, CIO for Asana (a workforce management platform), about his partnership with Anna Binder, CHRO. They’ve created a “fundamental partnership” to keep EX and tech aligned. Srivastava says, “Digital employee experience is a thing.” As the article states, “The emergence of generative AI…started with considerable hype…has evolved into a rapid transformation that requires careful management.” Barriers or silos erected previously need to be torn down as technology across the enterprise impacts the employee value proposition, employee experience and engagement. The CIO and CHRO working collaboratively unlocks greater potential.
