HR leaders: The use of AI within businesses has increased significantly, but for most organizations, the ability to track its ROI has been difficult. Aside from time saved completing tasks, the actual measured time savings and financial benefits have been elusive. With the evolution into Agentic AI, some organizations, like PepsiCo, are taking a more methodical approach. This article by Lindsey Wilkinson in CIO Dive highlights PepsiCo’s strategy and approach integrating AI into operations. PepsiCo realized it was time to begin showing real ROI for AI and avoid perpetual piloting. They took a dual strategy to allow people to play and set a strict agenda. There are a few good links imbedded in the article that are worth reading for additional context, especially the link on use cases and growing skepticism around Generative AI which supports PepsiCo's approach. PepsiCo’s EVP and Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer, Dr. Athina Kanioura, makes a compelling remark about the quest for piloting to find the right use cases while advancing the agenda: “We will not stifle innovation, but we also need to move toward getting the big ROI on those investments in the places that matter most.” Here are few other key takeaways from the article for HR leaders to consider as the use of AI integrates into operations: 💠 Establish an internal sandbox to promote experimentation and testing. 💠 Establish key priorities and make a bet on the handful of uses that impact the business the most. 💠 Take the time to establish the foundation for data management, do not rush the strategy or risk quality and governance issues. As HR operations increasingly become tech (AI) enabled, HR leaders can learn from and collaborate with CIOs to usher in strategically aligned, AI people practices. https://xmrrwallet.com/cmx.plnkd.in/ge_A3hPZ #HRIS #CHRO #HRtech #AIHR #CIO #CIODive
Great article and insights! Love the focus on experimentation, but with a purpose. A lot of great AI tools out there, and more everyday, but what ones will really help drive the organization forward? Strong AI governance is needed to help shape that focus and targeting the areas that will have the most impact.

1wPlayground and pressure. That’s the kind of dual strategy that could actually make AI operationally relevant in HR, Brenan German. Curious—what's one AI use case HR leaders should stop piloting and start scaling?
