Perihal kami

Setel Ventures Sdn. Bhd. SSM: 201901000991 (1310317-A) Introduced in July 2018, Setel is a mobile platform that aims to delight customers by innovating for better, inclusive mobility. Setel serves customers across Malaysia by powering one app as the constant companion to ease motorists’ journey across fuelling, parking, EV charging, motor insurance, road tax, auto assistance, general purchases and more across an ecosystem of PETRONAS petrol stations, retail partners, and online merchants. Mobility is defined as the ability to move, be it physically or circumstantially. At Setel, we envision the Future of Mobility as the simplification of moving from one place to another through technological advancement. Our Milestones - Enrich the convenience of purchasing at PETRONAS stations by seamlessly integrating both payments & the Mesra loyalty programme. - Enable one-tap fuelling from the petrol pump, cashless payments at PETRONAS Kedai Mesra, and store-to-vehicle shopping with the Deliver2Me feature to improve customer purchasing experience. - Pioneered the industry’s first cardless fleet fuelling solution for PETRONAS SmartPay. - Introduce mobility features such as parking payment, road tax renewal, vehicle takaful and insurance renewal, and auto assistance - all powered by Setel’s e-Wallet. More partners and features will be added to grow the mobility ecosystem. - Gradually expanding the presence of Setel payment availability to physical and online stores nationwide. - Extend the mobile platform to PETRONAS Shop, an eCommerce site that offers authentic PETRONAS products such as merchandise, lubricants, vouchers and more. - Incorporate the ‘One-click checkout’ feature that allows customers to complete transactions faster as shipping and payment details are obtained directly from their Setel account. - Pilot used cooking oil recycling feature to contribute towards securing feedstock for green fuel.

Last week, we welcomed a vibrant group of students to Setel HQ for an exciting industry visit arranged by SEGI University. The students came from various public and private universities across Malaysia, with most of them pursuing tech-related programs. We kicked things off with the Setel Story, sharing our journey as Malaysia’s first tech solution designed for seamless on-the-go fueling experiences, and how we've evolved into the tech company we are today. Then came the highlight of the day: a knowledge-packed sharing session titled “Navigating the Tech Industry” led by our Tech recruiters, Japheth and Lynn. From key trends in Malaysia’s digital economy to actionable tips on CV building (even tips on networking and breaking into tech!), the session was filled with practical advice for future talent who aspire to strive in the industry. This was followed by small-group breakout sessions where our Talent Team engaged with students in more open, informal conversations. The students could ask anything from interview tips to career direction, and yes — the honest conversations made it a truly meaningful engagement for all. And no visit to Setel is complete without a proper Setel send-off! The students wrapped up their experience with group photo sessions, exclusive Setel Merch Bags 🎁, and a tour of the Setel Office to get a feel of where the magic happens and a glimpse of their potential future workplace Curious to see how the visit unfolded? Head over to @lifeatsetel on Instagram and TikTok to catch the highlights! 📲 #LifeatSetel #IndustryVisit #NavigatingTheTechIndustry

  • Career myth: You need to have it all figured out by 25. Truth: Most of us are still learning, pivoting, and finding our voice well into our 30s, 40s — even beyond. Take one of our Star Setelnators, Nur Haikal Nordin, who pivoted from Geology to Data Engineering in his mid-late twenties. He studied Geology, graduated as a Geologist, and even started his career in the field. But after a while, the reality of working in the industry didn’t match the excitement he once felt learning about it in university so he started asking himself: What’s next? In his second year of working, Haikal was exposed to IT tools used in his field. That spark of curiosity led him to discover the world of Data Engineering. He started to explore, researched roles, signed up for a scholarship program (and passed on the first try!), and began building his skills from scratch. The biggest hurdle? Convincing hiring managers to take a chance on him with zero experience. So he built his own portfolio, created side projects, and learned by doing. Over 50 applications later, he landed his first Data Engineering role. And from there, he never looked back. Today, Haikal is part of the Data Engineering team at Setel — doing work that challenges him, fulfills him, and continues to stretch his potential. As his favorite quote by Stephen R Covey goes: “Begin with the end in mind”. He now sees learning as a lifelong journey. Whether it’s through talking to people, reading up on new roles and trends, or just staying open to where curiosity leads, the goal is to keep growing. Haikal’s journey reflects how we approach hiring at Setel: with a focus on skills and potential, not just your academic background — because we know diverse paths bring fresh perspectives and stronger teams. So if you’re feeling stuck in your career, or wondering if it’s “too late” to switch paths, take this as a reminder that your career doesn’t have to be linear. It just needs to keep evolving — like you. #Setel #CareerPivot #LifeAtSetel #DataEngineering

What did we learn from our interns this week? 🤔 Fresh eyes ask the best questions because the know to be inquisitive is to be themselves. 🤓 Gen Z isn’t just tech-savvy, they’re values-driven and it shows in their work! 😉 Giving context (not just tasks) builds ownership fast. So yes, your interns can definitely handle that task you’re thinking of. Here at Setel, we don’t just teach and guide our interns — we learn with them. We allow them to soar and guide them towards the Setel-style success. 🎖️ Want to experience being an intern at Setel? Apply at setel.com/careers! #ThrivingInSetel #SetelInternDiaries #LifeAtSetel

  • Yesterday at Setel, we took a deep dive into the world of Gemini and GenAI — and let’s just say, we’re ending the day a little more AI-literate (and very much inspired)! 🤖✨ Kicking things off was Jojo from G-AsiaPacific, our invited external speaker who gave us a solid walkthrough of Gemini for Google Workspace. From smart email drafts to real-time summaries, it was eye-opening to see how AI can support daily workflows, even beyond tech teams. We then heard from our talented Tech Setelstars who took us through various internal use cases and experiments across engineering, QA, and automation. While the topics varied, the message was clear: AI is already making an impact in how we work, build, and test yet there is still so much more to explore. 🚀 It’s always exciting to see Setelnators being proactive in sharing, exploring, and growing together. With AI and technology evolving rapidly, it’s these collective learning moments that keep Setelnators future-ready. #LifeAtSetel #AI #AIforWork #Setel

  • With so many tips floating around on how to write the best resume, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. To get real insights into what actually matters, we asked our LinkedIn community earlier this week: "What do recruiters read first on a resume?" Over 430 responses later, the opinions varied — proving just how subjective the process can be. To dig deeper, we turned to our in-house recruiters at Setel who review hundreds of resumes daily. Their verdict? While every part of a resume plays a role in representing who you are, many of them naturally gravitate toward the Work Experience section — especially when it clearly highlights impact with strong action verbs like “improved” or “contributed,” and backs it up with measurable results (yes, the percentage and numbers). Others start with the Summary to get a quick sense of what the candidate brings to the table, while also scanning for relevant skills and structure. So, is there one thing to prioritize? Not exactly. A well-crafted resume balances all sections — from the Summary and Skills to the Experience and design — making sure nothing is just filler. And that’s how you draft a Setel-approved resume. #ResumeTips #HiringInsights #Setel
