𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻, 𝗔𝗜, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗮𝗶𝗹 Prasarana was honoured to have representatives from various departments participate in the recent Women in Rail Conference, where global leaders, innovators, and changemakers gathered to discuss the future of the rail industry. The conference also offered an invaluable opportunity to benchmark Malaysia’s rail ecosystem against global standards. While we’ve made notable progress, becoming a world-class operator means we must Own It—by accelerating AI adoption, enhancing multimodal connectivity, and reducing reliance on government funding. This calls for bold decisions and shared accountability across all levels. One of the most engaging sessions was the Malaysian panel on “AI, Ambition & the Next Generation Workforce.” As Prasarana’s representative Priyanka Nainani shared, “AI isn’t here to take over our jobs—it’s here to help us work smarter. The real strength lies in knowing how to use it effectively.” A key takeaway from the conference was the urgent need to increase women’s representation in leadership roles. The fact that only 1% of C-suite positions in the UK rail sector are held by women is a stark reminder of the inclusion gap that still exists. We must actively build a more diverse talent pipeline—especially in STEM—so more women can grow and lead in this industry. As we Speak Up & Listen, creating space for all voices is key to driving innovation. At Prasarana, we also strive to Act Responsibly—not just in how we operate, but in how we lead. This means embracing inclusion and intentionally shaping a workforce that reflects the diversity of the communities we serve. As Prasarana’s Mohd Zulhelme shared, “Women bring diverse perspectives that drive balanced decision-making and sustainable progress. It’s essential they have equal opportunities to lead and shape the future of rail.” The Women in Rail Conference reaffirmed Prasarana’s commitment to shaping a future-ready, inclusive, and progressive rail industry. As we continue to learn from global best practices and push the boundaries of innovation, we remain focused on creating a workplace and a public transport system that reflects the strength of our diversity and the potential of our people. The journey ahead is one of continuous growth, and we are proud to be part of a movement driving meaningful change for the better. #Prasarana #AdvancingMobilityEnrichingExperiences #Culture

At LRT Masjid Jamek Station, an unexpected incident turned an ordinary day into a meaningful showcase of Prasarana’s commitment to service excellence. Faced with a challenging situation involving an elderly passenger, our dedicated staff rose to the occasion, responding not just with efficiency, but with heartfelt compassion, dignity, and teamwork. It began when a concerned commuter approached the counter to report an elderly man who had soiled himself while attempting to board the train. The situation was delicate, and discomfort was understandably expressed, yet what followed was a seamless and thoughtful response from the duty team. Transit Officer Nur Zaa Nina Kamaludin had just disembarked from a train when she was alerted. Without hesitation, she assessed the situation, confirmed the elderly man’s condition, and immediately contacted the Operations Control Centre (OCC) to hold the train and prevent further discomfort for both the individual and fellow passengers. With empathy guiding her actions, Nur Zaa approached the elderly passenger and gently explained that it would be best to disembark for now and freshen up. She then explored solutions, asking janitors if spare clothing was available, but none was on hand. Without delay, she called on the support of Auxiliary Police personnel L/KPL PB Shafie bin Haji Mohd Yunus and Station Officer Ahmad Zikri bin Zulkhairi, who stepped in to assist. While L/KPL PB Shafie and Ahmad Zikri kept the elderly passenger calm on the platform, Nur Zaa went a step further. Showing exceptional care, she asked SO Ahmad Zikri to buy a clean pair of pants from nearby shops. The new pants were brought to the uncle, who had been guided to the restroom. A janitor offered a garbage bag for his soiled clothes, but he asked for them to be disposed of entirely. The team stayed with the elderly passenger until he felt comfortable and clean. Nur Zaa personally accompanied him back to the platform and ensured he safely boarded the next train to continue his journey. In an era where efficiency often overshadows empathy, this powerful moment reminds us what true service really means. Transit Officer Nur Zaa Nina Kamaludin, Station Officer Ahmad Zikri bin Zulkhairi, and Auxiliary Police Officer L/KPL PB Shafie bin Haji Mohd Yunus demonstrated professionalism, dignity, and deep humanity. Their quick thinking and initiative, especially in a sensitive situation exemplify what it means to #BeProactive. They stepped up, anticipated needs, and acted with empathy and care. Their actions didn’t just resolve a moment of need — they elevated the customer experience for everyone around them. It is moments like these that reflect Prasarana’s commitment to serving with heart, where every gesture, no matter how small, reinforces our values and strengthens the trust of the communities we serve. #Prasarana #CultureHero #BeProactive #AdvancingMobilityEnrichingExperiences

Bridging Rail Innovation, Sustainability & Talent: Insights from the UITP Young Rail Professionals Workshop 2025, Bangkok The recent Brown Bag session offered more than just an informal exchange—it was a thoughtful exploration into the future of urban rail. Fresh from their participation in the UITP Young Rail Professionals Workshop 2025 in Bangkok, our young talents returned with compelling insights and forward-thinking ideas that promise to shape the evolution of public transport—not only for Rapid Rail, but for the wider industry. Held under the auspices of the UITP, the workshop brought together leading operators and professionals from across the region, including Prasarana, MTR, SMRT, SBS Transit, and BTS Group, under the central theme: “Mobility 5.0: Sustainability Initiatives for Operations and Maintenance in Metro Systems.” Discussions revolved around the integration of cutting-edge technologies with sustainable practices, and the development of a future-ready workforce equipped for the demands of a digital age. The session also highlighted a key challenge—bridging the generational gap within operations teams. Reverse mentoring is emerging as an effective approach, enabling knowledge exchange between younger staff and senior colleagues. The evolving role of technology in rail careers was another focus, with tools like mixed reality simulators, AI surveillance, and remote monitoring systems reshaping the industry. As innovation and data take centre stage, career paths are expanding to include digital transformation, data science, and cybersecurity, opening new opportunities for young professionals to lead and grow. The session concluded with a thoughtful look at what these ideas could mean for us locally. Noteworthy suggestions included the implementation of open-payment systems in line with Prasarana’s digitalisation goals, transforming selected stations into ‘live museums’ that reflect local culture and identity, and reimagining station spaces for immersive brand storytelling. There was a renewed appreciation for the importance of connectivity—not just in terms of physical integration with surrounding developments, but also in nurturing stronger internal collaboration. The discussions underscored the value of shared growth, championing approaches like two-way mentorship, digital upskilling, and bridging generational divides to cultivate a more agile, collaborative, and future-ready workforce. The session underscored a core truth: the railway industry is shaped as much by its people as by its infrastructure. A key takeaway was the need to build future-ready capabilities in areas like AI-driven predictive maintenance, cybersecurity, and cross-functional collaboration. For young professionals, this signals a dynamic future—where digital skills, adaptability, and collaborative mindsets will unlock new career opportunities and leadership roles in an evolving industry. #Prasarana #AdvancingMobilityEnrichingExperiences #UITP #BrownBag

The delegation travelled by ferry from Sultan Abdul Halim Jetty in Butterworth to Raja Tun Uda Jetty in George Town. Upon their arrival in George Town, they were warmly welcomed by Rapid Bus Northern Region Head, En. Mohd Amir Abdul Halim, together with Island Depot Head, En. Mohd Faris Ismail. From there, the group boarded a Rapid Penang bus en route to Fort Cornwallis. Before departing, En. Mohd Amir Abdul Halim took the opportunity to greet YB Dato’ Indera Mohd Shahar bin Abdullah and presented him with a souvenir as a token of appreciation and remembrance.
