  • Last week, Staples associates participated in the second Staples Vendor Food and Beverage Bonanza! Back by popular demand, the event allowed associates to sample and sip new products from market-leading vendors, all in support of a fantastic cause – #EventheOdds – and the work they do to raise awareness of inequity in Canada and build vibrant, healthy communities across the country. Thanks to the generosity and enthusiasm of our Staples community and participating vendors, we raised significant funds to help communities across Canada thrive. 💪   Even the Odds is Staples’ corporate giving initiative, in partnership with MAP Centre for Urban Health Solutions. Since launching Even the Odds 2021, Staples and its associates, vendors and partners have raised more than $7 million to end chronic homelessness, improve access to care and disease prevention, and create healthy starts for kids.   To learn more about Staples’ Even the Odds partnership with MAP, visit www.staples.ca/eventheodds Find out more about innovative food and beverage products available at Staples by visiting a local store or heading to https://xmrrwallet.com/cmx.pwww.staples.ca/

  • Last week, we welcomed our Senior Leadership Team and associates to our Ontario Fulfillment Centre for an exciting open house and firsthand look at our new Locus Robots in action! Launched in June, this award-winning, state-of-the-art robotics program is transforming our fulfillment centre operations by increasing picking and packing speed and accuracy, reducing manual tasks to enhance safety for our associates, and boosting overall efficiency. This technology isn’t just about automation; it is about delivering on our customer-first approach by making sure we’re getting the right products to the right place, quickly and reliably. We’re proud to showcase the technology that’s driving our future!   Thank you to all the teams involved in making this project possible.   #ONETEAM

  • Meet Joseph Crossland! When Joseph first stepped through the doors of Staples as a Supply Chain associate, he quickly discovered that customer success isn’t always about face-to-face interactions. It’s about trust. Every order he picked and packed wasn’t just a task; it was a promise. A promise that someone, somewhere, would get exactly what they needed, when they needed it. That quiet commitment to doing things right became the foundation of his leadership journey. As he moved into Retail, Joseph found himself surrounded by mentors. General and District Managers who didn’t just lead, but inspired. They challenged him to lead with empathy, to take ownership, and to never stop asking questions. These lessons stuck with him, especially when he transitioned into the Print & Service business. There, he was pushed to grow. Not just in technical skills, but as a leader. Even when he didn’t have all the answers, he focused on showing up for his team, learning alongside them, and building something meaningful together. Working remotely from head office brought a new realization. Presence isn’t about being in the room. It’s about being fully engaged, whether on a screen or in person. Every interaction became an opportunity to connect, to support, and to lead with intention. One of the most defining moments in Joseph’s career came when he didn’t get a role he had set his heart on. It stung, but instead of letting it hold him back, he used it as fuel. That setback sparked a period of reflection and incredible growth. It led to some of the most successful and fulfilling years of his career. To this day, now National Director of Print Sales, Joseph carries with him a simple but powerful piece of advice from a former leader: “You'll get what you give. Empower the people around you.” It’s more than a motto. It’s how he leads, how he connects, and how he shows up every single day.

  • As Canada’s Working and Learning company, we’re proud of the important role we play in removing barriers to education for communities where we live and work. A back-to-school tradition returns to Staples Canada stores today with the launch of the annual Staples School Supply Drive in support of United Way Centraide Canada and Kiwanis International. Now in its 20th year, this fundraising initiative helps students from coast to coast overcome obstacles by ensuring they head back to the classroom with the supplies and support they need to succeed.    Customers shopping in-store from now until September 28 can support the Staples School Supply Drive by adding a donation to their purchases. One hundred per cent of the donations raised are allocated to one of Staples’ charitable partners and directly support students and families in that community.     Celebrating two decades of giving, this annual campaign has raised more than $17 million to date to support students across the country.   Join us in helping to support local students and schools in your community this year! Learn more at: https://xmrrwallet.com/cmx.pbit.ly/43Z6lQb

  • At Staples, we know our people are our greatest strength — and this week, we came together to celebrate just that.   This week, associates gathered at our Richmond Hill office for a special event to foster connection, collaboration, and celebrate all we’ve accomplished so far this year as ONE TEAM.   We kicked off the day with the unveiling of our new refreshed ONE TEAM Gazebo — an outdoor space intentionally designed for connection, celebration, wellness, and quiet reflection. Whether it’s a team meeting, a mindfulness moment, or a peaceful break, this new space is a place for associates to pause, connect, and recharge.   The afternoon event was filled with energy and community — from music by a live DJ to delicious bites and refreshing drinks, courtesy of Andrew Peller Limited, it created the perfect backdrop for meaningful conversations and new connections. Thank you to all our associates who made this event special. Here’s to continuing to build a culture of connection and support — together.   #ONETEAM #TeamStaples

  • Meet Laxmi Menon! We asked Laxmi what belonging means to her. "As a woman in leadership, I prioritize fostering a passion for continuous learning and creating a supportive environment where women feel safe to take risks without the fear of making mistakes. I believe focusing on growth and progress, rather than perfection, is key to success. With the right guidance and a learning mindset, I am confident that this approach leads to meaningful development and achievement."

In partnership with Allstate, last week we announced the launch of Staples Trade-in by Allstate, a new program that allows Canadians to exchange their outdated electronics for Staples e-gift cards. This initiative aims to support families and students by making it easy to save money and reduce e-waste ahead of the back-to-school season.   Built for ease and flexibility, the program offers a fast and intuitive way to trade in smartphones, laptops and tablets. Customers simply answer a few questions online to receive an instant quote on their device’s condition. Once accepted, the trade-in value is issued as a Staples e-gift card – redeemable immediately in-store at any Staples location in Canada. Hardware can then be dropped off at the customer’s local Staples store or shipped directly to Allstate using a prepaid shipping label, making it easier than ever to turn old tech into instant value.   To learn more visit: staples.ca/trade-in Allstate Canada

  • At Staples, we’re dedicated to celebrating our associates who go above and beyond every day to support one another and our customers. To continue our Associate Appreciation Month events and wrap up June, associates at our Richmond Hill and Pendant offices enjoyed a well-deserved treat with ice cream truck visits that brought big smiles and even bigger moments of connection. From turning up the heat at our Associate Appreciation BBQs earlier this month to cooling off with some delectable ice cream flavours, this month was all about recognizing the people who make Staples such an incredible place to work. Thank you for all that you do! #AssociateAppreciation #ONETEAM
