Today, we announced a powerful step forward in our renewable energy goals with the planned installation of Canada's largest rooftop solar system. This monumental 7.5 MW array, covering over 435,000 square feet – the equivalent of more than seven football fields – will be located at our East Gwillimbury Distribution Centre. Expected to be operational in 2026, this system will generate up to 25% of the DC's total electricity, powering our operations with clean, on-site energy. This installation clearly demonstrates our commitment to taking decisive action as we work to achieve net-zero Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2040 for our enterprise operating footprint. We released our Q2 results today. With an unending focus on value, quality, service and convenience, we’re giving our customers what they need, where and when they need it. Our reward is another quarter of strong market share growth. Overall, our revenue was up +5.2%. In Food retail, the global shift towards value is definitely a long-term trend, and our Hard Discount stores are leading the way in Canada. Our conventional Super Market banners also had a strong quarter, growing tonnage share within their sector. As a result, Food same-store sales were +3.5. In Drug retail, same-store sales were +4.1%, thanks to broad strength in prescription, new healthcare services and beauty. We have momentum, our strategic investments are paying off, and we are well positioned for long-term growth. A big thanks to everyone in our stores, pharmacies, distribution centres and support offices for another great quarter. I will also mention that this morning, we announced a 4-for-1 stock split of Loblaw shares, effective at market close on August 18, 2025. All shareholders of record at close of business on August 14, 2025 will receive three additional shares for each common share held. Essentially, our number of shares will be multiplied by 4 post-split. Our goal is to make our shares more accessible to a broader range of investors. Have a great day Per https://xmrrwallet.com/cmx.plnkd.in/gRYwqKa6

In-store signage plays a crucial role in our operations. Through our partnership with DCM and PrintReleaf, we're able to counterbalance the paper resources consumed for our signage production by planting an equivalent number of trees. This innovative collaboration is an example of how purposeful partnerships can integrate sustainable practices into everyday business, while delivering real-world impact. #Loblaw #LiveLifeWell #ESG
Congratulations to Loblaw Companies Limited on reaching a major sustainability milestone: 100,000 trees reforested through our partnership with PrintReleaf! This achievement reflects Loblaw’s unwavering commitment to environmental responsibility—and we’re proud to play a role in helping bring that vision to life. By combining purpose-driven print with measurable reforestation, we’re proving that great partnerships can deliver real-world impact. Here’s to the next 100,000—and beyond. #SustainabilityInAction #PrintReleaf #DCM #Reforestation #PurposeDrivenPrint #PartnershipsThatMatter

Tariffs, there’s still a lot of uncertainty about the on-again, off-again tariff situation, and so I wanted to share some facts seen from our perspective. If you saw the latest inflation figures from StatsCan, you’ll know that June grocery prices increased at a slower pace than in May. Hidden within that positive news though, is the fact that tariffs continue to place inflationary pressures on grocery costs. This shows that retailers are generally doing a good job at managing the impacts of these tariffs for Canadians. Inside our business, the consequences of tariffs are being discussed in virtually every supplier meeting we have. So far this year, ~30% of the inflationary cost increases we are seeing are directly linked to tariffs in some way, shape or form. A couple of months ago, I shared that we expected to have to put a “T” symbol on roughly 6,000 products directly sourced from the United States to help our customers navigate impacts from the tariffs. Based on our experience since then, that number will move closer to 7,500, as the full effect of tariff countermeasures are felt. In the meantime, we are working hard to find new suppliers where tariffs aren't a concern. In fact, in Q2 alone we have added another 70 Canadian suppliers, with the total for the year sitting at 100. And on average, we’ve seen sales volumes decline by roughly 15%-20% on products marked with a “T”, while volumes on products prepared in Canada increase, demonstrating that the strong desire by consumers to continue supporting Canadian products and brands. Some declines are closer to 50%, where a strong alternative exists on our shelves. For the most part, our recent cost negotiations with suppliers have been straightforward and transparent –increases are tabled; any accepted costs directly caused by the tariffs are accepted penny for penny; and tariff-related costs will be eliminated once this situation is resolved. There have been cases where we believe the cost increases are not justified or are meant to take advantage of tariffs over the long-term. In these cases, we strongly push back. We know this is what Canadian consumers expect us to do. Like most of you, we want this situation to end fast, and with the least disruption to consumers and suppliers alike. I commend Prime Minister Mark Carney for the Canadian government’s efforts to resolve these U.S.-driven trade issues. In the meantime, I will reiterate we will continue to focus on value, make it easier for our customers to shop Canadian brands and products, and to advocate on their behalf.

Last week, I had the chance to visit one of our long-standing partners – Club Coffee at their facility that has been producing President’s Choice coffee ☕ for Loblaw for 25 years. Beyond helping Canadians 🇨🇦 kickstart their mornings and power through their afternoons, what makes this partnership so special is our shared focus on innovation and sustainability 🍃 - and keeping the customer at the heart of it. Together, we’ve led the way with compostable coffee pods (yes, they’re made from coffee bean 🫘 ‘chaff’!), and introduced fully recyclable packaging ♻️ across our President’s Choice coffee range. I don’t think anyone misses the old steel canisters… Thank you to Joseph Catalano, Colleen Williams, and the entire Club Coffee team for the warm welcome, the tour of your impressive operations, and a great discussion on what’s next. Excited for what we’ll continue to build - delivering great coffee to Canadians, in a more sustainable way. #loblaw #livelifewell #loblawsupplier #loblawsourcingvisits #sustainability #coffee #Innovation ofi North America (Olam Food Ingredients) Club Coffee Sharon Lansing Melanie Agopian Richard Windross Mary MacIsaac Heather Fadali
