I did something today that forced me out of my comfort zone. I took my first ride with #Waymo. Wow—what an experience! At first, I felt a bit strange with no human behind the wheel. But as the ride progressed, I found myself relaxing, realizing how safe and peaceful it felt. No awkward conversations, no unsafe cars with check engine lights, no worry about whether your driver is drunk or will fall asleep (and yes, I have experienced both!!). This brief ride showed me the real potential of AI-driven vehicles and the profound impact the can have on our lives and our safety. Yet, the more I think about it, the clearer it becomes that this shift isn’t just about technology; it’s about change management. We naturally tend to accept human errors more readily than machine failures, which was a huge eye-opener for me recently. As we move toward a future with autonomous technology, our focus needs to be on reshaping mindsets and fostering trust. After all, innovation is as much about adapting hearts and minds as it is about advancing tech. Shout out to Dan Gould for happening to pull up right behind me - embracing the same experience! Now off to #BoxWorks2024

Ed, I enjoy my awkward conversations, so I hope they add a feature for AI-generated awkward conversations. Excited to try this out.

Ed Wozencroft I think my first trip will have to be short. Building trust is a journey in itself. Good for you for fostering trust and innovation.

Very cool!!! great point about the change management. And I prefer singing in my car to awkward small talk with strangers any day! 🤣

I’m glad you got to experience Waymo. Recent did a capstone project on Waymo. Best safety record so far and it was a great ride Ed Wozencroft

I still have not done it yet...but I guess that is how it is with planes and auto pilot. I still think it would be cool to have someone there just in case...after seeing the video of the guy going around in the traffic circle. :-)
