  • Meet Robert Meisner, Senior Vice President of Matrix, a True Environmental company. Robert is a seasoned environmental leader with over a decade of impact at Matrix. As Senior Vice President, Rob has been instrumental in shaping the company’s environmental programs and utility partnerships. His leadership has driven the expansion of services across New Jersey and beyond, and he now oversees environmental operations company-wide. Rob is known for his ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes, build trusted client relationships, and lead high-performing teams. His work has helped elevate Matrix’s standing in the utility sector, particularly through his long-standing collaboration with Public Service Electric & Gas (PSE&G). “Matrix has always been my family,” Rob reflects. “I’ll always look back on the incredible people I have worked with and the lifelong friends I’ve made along the way. Some of my fondest memories are the numerous parties and gatherings where we were just able to hang out, have a few drinks and many laughs.” On the future of energy, Rob offers this perspective: “With the increased need for power to support the construction and maintenance of data centers, power generation and distribution have become critical. Utility companies are spending billions upgrading distribution systems; however, the need for additional power generation remains. In our current political climate, power generation has been focused on fossil fuels like oil, gas, and coal. However, we have limited natural resources, and the need for additional sources of power generation—such as solar, nuclear, and wind—will be vital to meet our increased energy consumption demands.” And a fun fact? Rob recently went skeet shooting at an old quarry in Pennsylvania. Turs out, his daughter Samantha is quite the marksman!

Matrix was proud to support the NJSWEP 17th Annual Gala, held June 19th at The Silo at Farmhouse. The event celebrated the achievements of the 2025 Graduate Scholarship Award recipients and honored Michelle Bouwman, this year’s Growing Great Women in the Garden State Award recipient. Chairs of the NJSWEP Steering Committee, Kali Primiani and Noelle Farook, led the event’s social media and floral centerpiece efforts, helping raise nearly $20,000 in sponsorships. Matrix also sponsored the evening’s signature cocktail—the Matrix Sidecar. Team members Jody Lee Mack, Jesse Bunag, Hannah Donnelly, Jennifer Holness, Ariana Campoverde, Kali Primiani, and Noelle Farook were in attendance to celebrate and support the advancement of women in environmental professions. What a great night!

  • Last week, Jason Ringler of Matrix New World Engineering and Ryan Morrison, PWS of Great Ecology, both Professional Wetland Scientists, proudly represented the True Environmental brand at the 2025 Society of Wetland Scientists Annual Meeting.   This year’s theme—“Navigating the Water: Wetland Science, Evolving Policy, and the Future of our Landscape”—perfectly captured the spirit of the conversations we had and the connections we made. From policy shifts to ecological innovations, the event was a powerful reminder of the importance of collaboration in shaping resilient ecosystems.   We’re grateful for the opportunity to engage with fellow scientists, practitioners, thought leaders, and changemakers who are driving the future of wetland science forward. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to share ideas, insights, and inspiration.   Here’s to continued momentum—and to protecting the landscapes that sustain us all.

  • Celebrate Plastic Free July: Small Swaps, Big Impact July is underway and it's the perfect time to kick plastic to the curb. Whether you're soaking up sunshine at the beach or sipping iced drinks on the patio, summer offers plenty of chances to make eco-conscious choices. Let’s turn the tide against single-use plastics together. Here are some easy, feel-good tips to help you go plastic-free this July. Bring Your Own Bag: Say goodbye to plastic shopping bags. Keep a few sturdy, reusable totes in your car, backpack, or purse so you're always ready to say no thanks. Hydrate Sustainably: Ditch bottled water in favor of a reusable bottle. Stainless steel, glass, or BPA-free options keep your drinks cold and your conscience clear. Shop Smart at Markets: Support your local farmers. Bring your own containers or cloth bags and skip the plastic packaging entirely. Refuse the Extras: When ordering takeout or delivery, ask restaurants to leave out the plastic cutlery, straws, and sauce packets. Bonus: you get to use your own stylish utensils. Rethink Personal Care: Choose shampoo bars, refillable deodorants, or bulk soap to reduce plastic waste in the bathroom. Host a Plastic-Free Picnic: Get creative with summer gatherings. Use compostable plates, cloth napkins, and mason jars instead of single-use items. Spread the Word: Talk about your journey. Whether it's a successful swap or a funny fail, sharing inspires others and builds a community of change-makers. Plastic Free July isn’t about perfection, it’s about progress. Every swap is a step toward a cleaner planet and a brighter future. So, grab your bamboo toothbrush and let’s make this summer refreshingly plastic-free!
