As Founded Communities approaches 13 years of fostering spaces for a diverse community of entrepreneurs and small businesses where innovation and connection thrive, we have decided to close our Gateway location, come this November. Gateway Plaza has transformed into a vibrant hub of businesses, owned and championed by people who care deeply about Raleigh. We are so grateful to have been a part of it, and we're proud to support the expansion of our current anchor tenant, Levitate, as they grow into the space. Founded is excited to continue to serve our community with greater purpose and consistency by focusing on fewer, more active spaces. So excited to hear this news from our friends over at American Underground. It's been such a joy to watch their continued impact on startups here in the Triangle. Here's to the next 15 years of innovation in Durham! 🩵 If you're a Founded member who hasn't used the coworking passport to visit AU while in the area, you're missing out. Soon, you'll have double the opportunity. 😉
We’re going back to where it all began... only this time, it’s not in the basement! Fifteen years ago AU started with a simple idea — if we build and invest in startups in the Triangle, they’ll stay, grow, and reinvest here. What began as an experiment — providing space for early-stage startups — quickly evolved into being one of the Triangle’s most recognized coworking communities, now home to over 275+ businesses. That’s all thanks to you, our community. You’ve brought the energy, innovation, and passion that helped us grow into something beyond anything we could have ever imagined. This move back to the American Tobacco Campus gives us a chance to double down on what matters most — our community. We’re excited to be growing alongside local small businesses, big-named companies, and students, and we’re still all-in on supporting diverse communities and bringing the best resources to our innovators, creators, and changemakers. Sneak peek of what's to come for AU@ATC: 🪴 A botanical library and secret garden 🎙️ A fully equipped podcast studio 🐂 Design touches that honor AU’s roots and Durham’s story 👯 And even more room to collaborate. Of course because we’re a community first space, we’ll continue to activate the space with a packed calendar of events, panels, mentorship sessions, and networking opportunities! We’re beyond excited for what’s ahead. Let’s keep building, growing, and most of all – doing it all together. With much excitement, Laura + AU Team

With 19 businesses and over 150 registrants, last night's career fair in collaboration with NC State Centennial Campus was a success! Thank you to all of our tabling companies for spending the evening with us! We had an amazing time watching talented and dedicated job-seekers forge connections and network amongst themselves. Special thanks to our sponsor, HireTalk, which helps hiring teams go beyond resumes by scoring candidate voice responses so you can screen faster, reduce bias, and focus on fit.
