  • We’re thrilled to announce the launch of a fresh new look for NVA!      At NVA, we believe pets are family members who make our lives better. Our new logo captures this belief by featuring two beloved pets from our team: Moose the German Shepherd and Beanie the cat.    Read the stories of Dr. Weirich’s German Shepard and Diane’s charismatic kitty: https://xmrrwallet.com/cmx.plnkd.in/eQQSyJSH     Together, Moose and Beanie embody the heart of NVA and the animals we care for every day. • The Animal Center of Zachary helped Bruh, a Brittany Spaniel with special needs, find his forever home with one of their veterinary interns! 🏠❤️   Bruh was diagnosed with intervertebral disc disease (IVDD), which left his back legs paralyzed. When the clients couldn't afford the necessary care and rehabilitation, they chose to surrender him, but the team wanted to give him a second chance. They cared for him until they could find him a forever home, and found it with Connor, their summer intern.   “Every animal deserves a chance,” said Brittany Canella, Hospital Manager. “Watching Bruh go from scared and immobile to thriving and rolling around in his wheelchair with light in his eyes, that's why we do what we do!”    📸: NVA’s The Animal Center of Zachary in Zachary, LA

  • Future veterinarians in the making! 🩺 We were proud to teach and expose 40+ students to #vetmed with hands-on CPR, suturing, and ultrasound stations.

ICYMI: Dozens of Washington-area middle- and high-school students got the chance to learn about the exciting world of veterinary medicine during "Vet for a Day" at #AVMA2025, held this year in Washington, D.C. In partnership with National Geographic's "Critter Fixers" program, the half-day workshop gave the students a close-up perspective on the practice of veterinary medicine. Volunteer veterinarians and veterinary technicians paired up with students to teach animal-handling techniques and provided hands-on demonstrations of suturing, ultrasounds, and CPR. "The 'Vet for a Day' event is a highlight of our annual Convention," said Dr. Sandra Faeh, AVMA president. "Our volunteers and staff love teaming up with Dr. Vernard Hodges, Dr. Terrence Ferguson and all the great people at 'Critter Fixers' to help teach the students about our amazing profession. As always, we are very grateful to our sponsors, Hill's Pet Nutrition and NVA General Practice, for supporting this wonderful event." "We're proud to support 'Vet For a Day' because it's a fantastic opportunity to inspire the next generation of students and give them an inside look into the veterinary profession," said Dr. Chelsie Estey, US Chief Veterinary at Hill's Pet Nutrition. "It's more than just an event; it's an investment in the future of veterinary medicine. By giving students hands-on exposure, we're sparking a lifelong passion and paving the way for the next generation of dedicated animal health professionals." "At NVA General Practice, we're passionate about inspiring the next generation of veterinary professionals," said Dr. Beth Neuman, Head of Mentorship at NVA General Practice. "Events like 'Vet for a Day' provide students with hands-on learning opportunities working alongside real veterinarians and veterinary technicians, giving them a glimpse into our profession and helping them discover the rewarding career opportunities in veterinary medicine." Thank you again to all those who attended and volunteered at our annual Vet for a Day event!

  • In this wheel-y unusual case, Sumner Veterinary Hospital rescued Daisy from a tight situation! 🛞    After Daisy kept digging a hole in the yard, her parents covered it with a tire... but Daisy had other plans and ended up stuck inside it! Her humans tried vegetable oil and dish soap – but no luck. Enter Sumner Veterinary Hospital. With a little sedation and a lot of care – pop! Daisy was free.    “I've never seen anything like it,” said Dr. Nick Larson. “Just another day at Sumner — where no situation is too tire-ing to handle.” 😉     📸: NVA’s Sumner Veterinary Hospital in Sumner, WA  .
