About us

The Chamber is a fully-integrated economic development organization, dedicated to both job creation and job preservation. As a member-based business organization, we work to grow markets for our members. Our work is focused in the following areas: •Recruitment and expansion of existing businesses. •Development and nurturing of entrepreneurial and minority businesses. •Tourism and convention development. •Military and federal affairs. We also champion a broad array of community development issues as they relate to our mission, including governmental affairs, education, diversity and leadership development. We have been the driving force for building successful businesses and a vibrant economy since 1873. Governed by a volunteer board of directors and operated by a professional staff, the Chamber works to ensure that businesses have what they need to flourish. The Chamber is the voice of business in governmental affairs, both locally and on a national level, providing products and services to member businesses that help them grow and prosper. Through consistent communication with members, and a volunteer climate that encourages involvement and service, the Chamber develops and implements programs that are relevant to the needs of member businesses.

  • On July 17, the Montgomery Chamber hosted The Momentum Express—a dynamic, day-long experience designed to showcase how our region is aligning education and workforce development with real economic opportunity. The day began with a windshield tour through Montgomery’s industrial park, where participants saw firsthand the scale and diversity of the industries fueling job creation and growth. The experience then shifted to the classrooms and labs at Trenholm State and MPACT, where future talent is being developed in direct response to industry needs. From dual enrollment programs and technical certifications to hands-on training and strong employer partnerships, the message was clear: Montgomery isn’t waiting for talent to arrive—we’re building it from the ground up. The Momentum Express wasn’t just a tour—it was a powerful blueprint for how Montgomery is preparing its workforce and strengthening the region’s economic future.
