just wrapped the first 6 months of my community course, and i learned a ton of unexpected things about teaching ⬇️ 🧠 teaching forced me to get way smarter and clearer on my knowledge and perspective. it was one of the best learning accelerants i've ever experienced. 💡 teaching adults is extremely different from teaching teens or kids - especially smart, driven adults who are determined to grow. it's SO fun. instead of getting questions about what the content means, you get questions about how to apply it, or about edge cases you never would have considered on your own. 🎻 teaching is just as much about facilitating conversation between students as it is about delivering information and tools. it really is an art that you strengthen with practice, and once you master it you feel like you're conducting the most incredible orchestra of knowledge and discovery. 👹 teaching is scary no matter how qualified you are. it's a lot of pressure to make sure you're sharing informed and valuable perspectives while still creating space for alternative POVs or things you've never considered. it does get less scary the more you do it. 💸 teaching made me a lot more money than i expected, which is fabulous given my husband and i are saving for our first home. teaching a high value skill enables you to receive high value in return. have you thought about teaching? have you taught? have you had amazing teachers? what have you learned about teaching in your adult life?
