I dream of a Mother’s Day when I can have the entire day to myself. As a mom of three small, adorable kids, an entrepreneur, and the daughter of an extraordinary mom who helps with the kids and Kiva Brands, Inc. -- sometimes I just need one of those alone days to relax and reset. This Mother’s Day is not that day. Aside from it falling on a Sunday when the kids are home, it would require way too much planning to find childcare. And on Mother’s Day, who would I even call? The grandmas deserve this day to relax. Aunty TT is a dedicated fur mom. It’s the nanny’s weekend off. And Dad needs Sunday to ensure he shows up to work on Monday. Plus, if people were gathering without me, I’d have serious FOMO (and still a mess to clean up). Like most moms, I want to spend time with my family and my family wants to spend time with me. So, what’s a mom to do? This year, we will celebrate with kid-friendly activities: a train ride, a picnic and playtime at the park with the cousins. Sounds like Kid’s Day not Mother’s Day, except for one small, very special, very coveted gummy…one that, if forgotten at home, would require turning this car around! Any chaos unfolding will be uniquely transformed into tolerable, even pleasant “memories." The chit-chat will flow, the shoulders will relax, and the diapers will be changed with a smile. It will be a different kind of pampering. No stress, no drama, just a day of family fun and being present with each other, brought to you by responsible cannabis use. It won’t be on Sunday but I’m confident I will get my day of solitude. That’s why moms’ favorite days are Mondays. For this weekend, here’s to all of the moms doing what you need to do to get through! Happy Mother’s Day! 🌸 #happymothersday
