  • According to the Equal Pay Today organization, Black women working full-time, year-round earn just 66 cents for every dollar paid to white, non-Hispanic men. Over a 40-year career, that can mean nearly $1 million in lost income. This wage gap is shaped by many factors including limited pay transparency, unpaid caregiving, occupational segregation, and barriers in hiring and advancement. Together, we can help close the gap. • On #WorldRefugeeDay, we stand in solidarity with refugees around the world in the face of unimaginable challenges. According to the UN Refugee Agency, by June, 2024 there were 43.7 million refugees globally and counting as the world witnesses increasing conflicts. These are individuals who have been forced to flee their homes in the face of wars, persecution, or disasters. The 1951 Refugee Convention defines a refugee as a person who "owing to well-founded fear of being persecuted for reasons of race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group or political opinion, is outside the country of nationality and is unable or, owing to such fear, is unwilling to avail of the protection of that country." (Source: UNHCR) At Dress for Success Worldwide, we are proud to support women of all backgrounds, including many with refugee status as they navigate new beginnings, access opportunities, and create brighter futures for themselves and their families. Through professional attire, career development, and a supportive community, we stand beside her every step of the way. Learn more about our work and how you can support her next chapter at dressforsuccess.org/donate. #DressforSuccess #WorldRefugeeDay

  • Today we joyfully recognize Juneteenth, a powerful celebration of freedom, resilience, achievement, and the enduring spirit of Black communities. At Dress for Success, we are inspired by the legacy of progress and the ongoing fight for equity. We stand with Black women who have led, shaped, and strengthened our communities, often in the face of deeply rooted barriers. You can celebrate Juneteenth in meaningful ways such as exploring African American museums or virtual exhibits, shopping Black-owned brands online or in your community, attending a Juneteenth festival or block party, sharing the history of Juneteenth on social media, or hosting a gathering to reflect. Juneteenth is not only a day of remembrance but a call to action. Together, we honor the past as we keep pushing for a more just and inclusive tomorrow. #Juneteenth #DressforSuccess #EquityInAction #BlackWomenLead #EconomicJustice
