Twenty-five years ago, the E-SIGN Act changed the DNA of a signature. In this article, I explore how AI will reshape agreements — from creation to management — as we mark e-signature's 25th anniversary…

It has been 25 years since the ESIGN Act came into effect, a US federal law that made electronic signatures and records legally equivalent to traditional paper-based ones. Forever changing how we do business! To celebrate, we've partnered with incredible artists Lynne Yun and Libbie Bischoff to reimagine our library of digital signatures. This unique artistic collaboration is all about showcasing your personality. Now, your digital signature can truly reflect who you are. Look out for these new styles dropping later this year! Tell us how digital signatures and Docusign have changed your business over the last two decades.

Sales leaders and sellers - it is June 25, do you know where your contracts are? Just 4 business days left in calendar quarter Q2 and organizations everywhere are in the last mile of getting their deals closed. Unfortunately many of those deals will slip due to contract obstacles during the final review and approval process. Who is working on the contract? Which version are we on? Did you respond to the redlines? Now with Docusign Agreement Desk, everyone from sales, legal, services, deals desk and operations has visibility to what stage every contract is in. With just a few clicks, you know which party is working the contract, see redlining, commenting and version control. With AI-Assisted-Review, legal teams can scale with a quick comparison against a playbook, identification of which terms require attention and recommendations of the next step and/or suggest language. AI + Automation + Collaboration = deal velocity and closure. Agreement Desk is just one small piece of our Intelligent Agreement Management platform. With 10,000+ customers on the platform, we are automating every step from agreement preparation all the way to managing contract obligations and every step in between. Good luck to all the sellers out there for a strong close!

I’ve been enjoying time in Europe, connecting with customers, partners, and some media at our Docusign Momentum events. It was a pleasure to sit down with Phil Wainewright from diginomica in London, who captured why I have never been more optimistic about our company’s future in his signature “My Take” section of his story. I’ve excerpted that below, but the full story is worth a read and reflects what I found to be a smart, probing conversation. Really appreciate spending the time with Phil who asked tough, smart questions and is very well informed. You can read the full piece here: https://xmrrwallet.com/cmx.plnkd.in/gMfbhgFJ “With e-signature increasingly becoming a commodity, Docusign has long needed to expand its reach into the workflows that surround those signatures. It's taken a while, but it finally now has an offering that seems to fit the bill and which customers are embracing. Its long history of dealing with agreements means that it can bring deep knowledge of the concepts and processes involved, which bodes well for its ability to harness the power of generative AI as it automates those processes. But it's in a race with many other vendors that have seen the same opportunity, and who are also using generative AI to unlock the context hidden away in the contracts and other documents that carry those signatures. As Thygesen is well aware, Docusign has two advantages that will help it defend its turf against these interlopers, or even expand into new pastures. First of all, most enterprises have still barely begun to automate all the everyday processes that still require a signature. Listen to Docusign customers talking about the productivity gains they've seen from applying IAM, and it's almost entirely still about eliminating cumbersome paper-based processes. AI isn't a requirement for putting these automations in place — it just makes it much easier to finally get them done. This creates a rich harvest of low-hanging fruit to be gathered from existing relationships. Secondly, in much of its customer base, Docusign is already deeply embedded in crucial document processes, and it therefore makes more sense to expand that relationship rather than start thinking about what could be a highly disruptive replacement with a different vendor's products. This means that, where customers are looking to consolidate on fewer vendors, Docusign will often be on the list of those who stay rather than those earmarked to go. Having recently attended its London event, I would add one more point in its favor. There's simply a level of confidence and energy coming from the company that goes beyond what I've heard from many vendors who are still unsure of where exactly the latest AI technology is leading them. Docusign has a sense of mission, grounded in what it has seen it can do for customers, which looks set to carry it forward where others may be hesitating.”
