There has never been a better time to be a CPA.
With major shifts underway in our industry—technology transforming how we work, clients seeking more strategic guidance, and trust in financial expertise at a premium—the demand for CPAs has never been higher. The sky is truly the limit for those in our profession who are ready to adapt, lead, and innovate.
But with this opportunity comes responsibility.
Our profession is facing a significant pipeline challenge. Fewer students are choosing accounting, and many who do leave before reaching licensure. If we want to sustain and grow our profession, we must be intentional about outreach. That means showing up in our communities, speaking in classrooms, mentoring students, and championing the value and versatility of the CPA license.
As your CalCPA East Bay Chapter President, I’m committed to leading with purpose—and I invite you to join me. Together, we can shape the future of the profession by inspiring the next generation and showing them what’s possible when you’re a CPA.
Let’s make this an era of growth, collaboration, and impact.
Warmly,
Erin Silva, CPA
President, CalCPA East Bay Chapter
