  • We're delighted to see the photos from Bristol Dementia Action Alliance's 60s/70s disco! Zurich employees, Amanda and Mark, were on-hand to help celebrate, as part of the Challenge volunteering programme. They were also joined by Lisa Dicker, Community Development Manager for BDAA, who donned an absolutely fabulous outfit for the day! Amanda came up with the idea to create nostalgia for the attendees, including those living with dementia, by recreating an old style sweet shop, including old-fashioned scales. We hear the Dolly Mixtures, Liquorice All Sorts, and Jelly Babies went down a treat! What's your favourite traditional sweet? 🍡 🍬 🍭 🍩 🍫

  • External comms Deborah Ubee Trust painting challenge - complete ✅ It’s amazing what a fresh coat of (almost) white paint can do! 🎨✨ The external comms team rolled up their sleeves to refresh the Deborah Ubee Trust’s counsellor prep room—making it brighter, warmer, and more welcoming for everyone who uses the space. We’re delighted by the feedback from the Trust: “A huge thank you to you and your fabulous teammates, Sarah and Miranda, for transforming our training room. Your energy and generosity made a real difference—the space now feels beautiful and inviting for our clients, volunteers, and staff. We’re truly grateful.” The external comms team felt it was inspiring to learn more about this amazing charity and the positive impact they make every day. 💙 #ZCT #FeelGoodFriday (Before picture and two after pictures below ⬇️)

  • This wonderful feedback is why we do what we do. It captures the volunteering spirit of our Zurich UK employee supporters perfectly. And we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate #NationalVolunteersWeek! Our Challenge volunteering programme is in its 36th year and is a firm favourite with business teams across the UK. Providing them with the opportunity to engage directly with local charity partners like ACACIA FAMILY SUPPORT. Our summer Challenge season is well under way with over 100 teams up and down the country, rolling up their volunteering sleeves to support their communities! 💙

This is what brilliant corporate volunteering looks like - and Zurich Insurance are absolutely leading the way! 🙌 We’re incredibly proud to share the continued success of our partnership with Zurich 🤝 They’ve consistently supported us through hands on, meaningful volunteering - from wrapping Christmas gifts to helping us with coffee mornings! Now, we’re absolutely thrilled to announce they’ve taken on a brand new challenge: helping us decorate our new office! 🎉 Thank you to Nat Gomez Gray for choosing our challenge! Zurich's support goes beyond one off gestures. This is a long term collaboration that’s making a real difference - and a brilliant example of what corporate social responsibility looks like when it’s genuinely lived, not just talked about. To everyone at the amazing Zurich Insurance and Zurich Community Trust team: THANK YOU! 💛 A special shout out to the fabulous Ben Wainman, our partnership manager, who is always on the lookout for practical, new ways to help us. • As our focus on Dementia Action Week continues, 2024 saw both Zurich Community Trust (ZCT) together with Z Zurich Foundation (ZZF), making more impact in support of dementia research. ZZF supported Insurance United Against Dementia’s 'Insurance Day of Giving' with £100,000, plus a further £5,000 towards matching other donations. In addition, ZCT awarded funding of £25,000 to directly support research into dementia blood bio-markers that has the potential to transform the dementia diagnosis process. Dementia diagnosis is crucial to enable individuals access to the right treatment and support. At the moment one in three people living with dementia do not have a confirmed diagnosis. With nearly one million currently living with the disease across the UK, that's close to a staggering 300,000 people potentially undiagnosed. We're extremely proud to be a part of the IUAD community who are providing vital support to those living with dementia, including advocating a more effective process for diagnosis. Their ongoing research is crucial and gives hope for our future generations. #IUAD #StrongerTogether #DAW2025

  • To mark Dementia Action Week, we're celebrating our partnership with Dementia UK. Dementia UK offers a lifeline to many through their 400 specialist nurses, known as Admiral Nurses, who provide free, expert advice, support and understanding to help families care for their loved one. With nearly one million people living with dementia in the UK and 55 million across the globe, the need for support is greater than ever. ZCT is very proud to support such an incredible charity and throughout our existing multi-year partnership, we have awarded £450,000 in grant funding to help Dementia UK support the ever-growing dementia community. #DementiaActionWeek2025 #DAW2025 #ProudPartnerships #StrongerTogether

  • As part of our engagement programme, we're very lucky to cross paths with some truly inspiring individuals. Today we'd like to say a huge thank you to one of those individuals, Paul Snelling. Paul made the decision to support us through his mega marathon challenge of running a staggering 31 marathons in 31 days! A million thank yous, Paul, for running over a million steps to raise an incredible £5,700 (so far!) to help support our amazing charity partners. We wish you and your feet a speedy recovery and well deserved rest! For anyone wishing to show support, Paul's giving page is still open to donations here: https://xmrrwallet.com/cmx.plnkd.in/eDFM2E6t #ThankYou #ZCTFundraising #Inspiring #31Marathons #31Days

Today is #medalmonday & yesterday marked 31 Marathons on 31 consecutive days completed with the world class London Marathon! Managed to finish it off with the fastest of the lot at 3:23:56 official. More boring stats... 836.42 Miles Run, 138 hours and 44 minutes, 1,579,719 steps and 45,663ft of elevation. It is very difficult to put into words how I am feeling and more importantly how to thank everyone that has supported this effort but here goes my best attempt... This was the most difficult thing I have ever done, I expected the personal physical and mental challenge but I didn't anticipate the recovery time or mental exhaustion or how much strain I would put on those around me! Without the support of family and friends this would never have been a success. To every single person who has sponsored me, messaged me to keep me going, I am perpetually grateful! There is a select bunch to whom I owe particular thanks... Emma Snelling, my wonderful, accommodating, beautiful wife, she hasn't just operated as a single mum to our 3 girls this past month, she's nursed me through and managed with our ongoing house renovation, whilst she is pregnant! Every penny raised is earnt by her as much as me. Oliver Renyard MSc, my physio, & chief engineer of this effort. I would have been off the road after 7 days if it wasn't for him getting me through the physical & more importantly the mental challenges faced where at times I thought my body was giving up & it wasn't I just had to do the right things to get back in gear! Fareham Running Club who are legally responsible for my endorphin addiction when they lured me in with their cohesive, supportive & #unstoppable attitude in 2016 and in particular the members who were kind enough to join me and support me on runs! Martin Butcher, my cousin he's been a constant beam of positivity supporting me for this effort! Martin, along with my uncles Graham Renyard and Mike Reynolds are life long role models for me & following in their running footsteps is the least I can do! My mum, if you want to know where I get my determination from, look no further. Every part of my character that is good, has her stamp on it. She's been supportive & positive, letting me turn her bathroom into my own recovery zone whilst our house is out of action! So far I have raised more than £4800 exc. gift aid for Zurich Community Trust, in turn Dementia UK & Barnardo's! Most of which I owe to YOU, my professional network! In particular those at FreedomPay who haven't just been generous with funds but with time supporting my effort with patience whilst I've been basically part time for this last month! One professional lesson I learnt is just because I can work after 1 marathon it doesn't mean I can after several on several days! Let's see if we can get that over £5000 before the news passes! https://xmrrwallet.com/cmx.plnkd.in/eeu6VmEd My advice to anyone that can, enter a big marathon, you can do it, anyone can do it and it will make you feel amazing!

Small changes can make a big difference. Everyone should be able to feel OK at school, but we know this isn’t the case for many autistic young people. That's why we created the Autistic and OK programme with Ambitious about Autism, Zurich Community Trust and Zurich UK. It empowers autistic pupils to take control of their mental health and wellbeing. This free, award-winning toolkit is available for every secondary school in the UK, with resources adapted for specialist schools and youth groups. Build a whole-school community where autistic pupils feel understood and accepted. Download the toolkit today ⬇️ https://xmrrwallet.com/cmx.plnkd.in/dXGfGWrR

  • The clocks may have sprung forward, but today we’re springing you back to share an important update on the impact we made throughout 2024 💙 There’s something very special about being the charity arm of a large corporate. We’re very lucky to have the financial support from @Zurich UK and the generous donations of its 4,500 strong workforce. Thanks to them, we get the privilege of managing community focused partnerships and programmes that allow us, together with our employee supporters, the opportunity to give back. And once again, we feel so proud of what that has allowed us to achieve in the space of one year! A huge thank you also to our incredible partners, who without them, the impact we make just wouldn’t be possible 💙

  • What better way to mark employee appreciation day then celebrating the incredible impact made by a very special member of our ZCT team, Kerry Chambers. A loyal advocate and passionate supporter of all things ZCT since joining the Zurich UK UK business 23 years ago. We were instantly smitten with Kerry's charismatic charm and powers of persuasion, so it gave us great pleasure to welcome her to the ZCT team in 2015. Ten years later, Kerry is bidding us a fond farewell as she heads off to sprinkle her fundraising magic for another charity based in her local community - how very lucky they are! During Kerry's time in Zurich and ZCT she won countless awards, both from Zurich and other charities. These include Dementia Friend of the year, Global Community Champion, Age UK Call in Time Volunteer of the year and many more. Not only that, since becoming Fundraising Manager Kerry has helped raise a staggering £1.7 million through ZCT fundraising initiatives - just amazing! Kerry was one of the first Dementia Friend facilitators in Zurich UK and thanks to her commitment and endless enthusiasm, Zurich now has over 1,000 dementia friends across the business. A huge heartfelt 'Thank you' to you Kerry for everything you've done for our charity partners, employee supporters and everything in between. We all wish you the very best of luck in your new venture, and you'll be an incredible asset to your new team, just as you have been for us! 💙
