Safety First – Training in the High Alps! 🏔️🚁 End of July, a very special safety training took place in the "Hagengebirge" (Hagen Mountains) of Salzburg - to prepare our teams for the most challenging part of dismantling the old Salzburg power line. After the successful commissioning of the new Salzburg line by APG Austrian Power Grid AG (APG), the next step is the deconstruction of the old line; and that under extreme conditions: ·      Alpine terrain ·      No access roads ·      Unpredictable weather ·      Exposed locations Together with our partner Cteam Leitungsbau Österreich, we are working in Lot 1. To prepare our teams in the best possible way, around 40 colleagues from Powerlines Energy Austria, Cteam Leitungsbau Österreich, HTB, Heli Austria GmbH and an emergency doctor of the air rescue unit Martin 4 took part in an intensive training day. And it was both educational and spectacular: 📌 Training highlights: Presentation on Working with Helicopters- Hazards, Best Practices, and Communication Helicopter sling operations - our colleagues were flown 30 meters below the helicopter to the cantilevers of the towers Boarding and getting off a hovering helicopter Medical emergency training with a doctor Mountain rescue training with the Austrian Mountain Rescue Service Briefing on our custom-made mobile bivouacs, which provide shelter and accommodation for our teams It was a fantastic day in the mountains, full of exercises, insightful conversations, and valuable input. Project Spotlight: Rapid Route – Kennishead Line, Glasgow 🚧 Faced with tight deadlines and limited access, a Rapid Route Cable Management solution was needed for this key stretch of the Kennishead Line. Working with SPL POWERLINES UK as both client and contractor, our Anchor Screw System provided a fast, no-dig alternative that could be installed directly into the ballast — eliminating the need for concrete, RRVs, or full track possessions. The project was delivered in collaboration with Westlin Group, who carried out the installation, and supported by Scott Parnell Ltd.
