A look back on Pride at Dr. Martens: A Month of Visibility and Voice Throughout June, our teams around the world came together to mark Pride. Not just as a celebration, but as a moment to reflect, learn, and connect. We heard from Paul Jansen and Elise Colomer-Cheadle of Outright International, one of our Dr. Martens Foundation Partners, who gave a powerful, research-driven view of the global LGBTIQ+ movement; spotlighting hard-won victories, emerging threats, and the road ahead. We took a deep dive into the rich history of queer subcultures with Lisa der Weduwe and Yeliz Zaifoglu from the Museum of Youth Culture, exploring club culture, protest, fashion and resistance through the decades. And we were moved by an intimate fireside chat between Dr. David Johns and our own Kameelah Benjamin-Fuller, as they explored what it means to lead with purpose at the intersection of queer identity, education and civil rights. Across our global community, we also spotlighted the lived experiences of our LGBTQIA+ colleagues through regional employee panels. Thank you to all who were involved in the powerful, personal conversations that reminded us of the importance of being seen and heard: Jessy Romero, Johnathan Hernandez, Antonio Castelli, Lee Revelle, Miri Schwarzer-Easton, Natalie Fuellgrabe CISM MBCS, Kenzi Love, Euphoria Scargill, Victor Delmotte, Guilia Palmeri And our people across the globe took part in activities - from writing letters to our Dr. Martens Foundation Partners Micro Rainbow, to sharing stories and designs through our Pride sticker competition, virtual film club, and a global call for photos, we honoured Pride in ways that were creative and collective. Check out our photo competition winners Quan Nguyen Doan, Stroy Austin and Cornélia Schmitt in their drag persona Madame de Kurbis. At Dr. Martens, we know Pride isn’t a one-month moment. It’s part of how we show up for each other all year round. #PrideAtDMs #LGBTQIA #DrMartens #MadeLikeNoOther #PrideMonth2025
