Microsoft AI Red Team ❤️ OpenAI GPT-5 After an extensive red teaming exercise, Microsoft concluded that GPT-5 Reasoning model exhibits one of the strongest safety improvements over prior OpenAI's models, on par with or better than OpenAI o3, across most critical harm categories We brought in the big guns as One Microsoft to land this large exercise. 70+ experts across AI Safety and Security in every area imaginable from CBRN to psychological harms. We bet huge on automation by leveraging PyRIT and it paid off: our open source automation toolkit, PyRIT, processed more than 1 Million offensive conversations. At the heart of what we do is a sense of expertise entwined with integrity. No where else in the world are you going to find a malware expert, a bioweapons expert, a misinformation researcher, legal scholars and a psychologist working under the same roof - who want to do the right thing. I am utterly proud of what we have done and grateful to be working along side these experts in Microsoft AI Red Team!
