♻️ The opening of Circular PET, a cutting-edge plant in Tsuyama, #Japan, further illustrates Veolia’s expertise in processing used bottles made from PET (polyethylene terephthalate) into food-grade recycled PET resin. Tsuyama’s plant joins Plastiloop, a network of over 40 Veolia #plastic recycling plants spread across the world. ➡️ The new installation marks a significant milestone in the creation of a circular business model: Bottles of this type are often thrown away with their caps and/or labels still on, or even with some liquid inside (over 50% of volume generated domestically), and are considered a challenge for bottle-to-bottle recycling in Japan. ➡️ To ensure a steady supply of raw materials, Circular PET has established partnerships with key industry players, including the West Japan Railway Company and Kyushu Japan Railway Company. ➡️ These partnerships enable the collection of used PET bottles, which are then sorted, crushed, washed, melted, and subjected to solid-state polymerization to produce high-quality recycled PET resin. 🔗 Lear more: https://xmrrwallet.com/cmx.plnkd.in/g5UYbh9z

99.99% of hazardous waste pollutants eliminated. 70 000 tons of waste treated each year. 4 000 types of industrial #waste processed. This is what Veolia's hazardous waste treatment facility in Port Arthur, Texas, is capable of treating using cutting-edge technologies and AI-driven digital solutions. 🏭 This facility treats complex waste streams from a wide range of industries, including chemical, pharmaceutical, and microelectronic. And it is the only facility in the #US authorized by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to eliminate dioxin waste. In the plant, Veolia is implementing MasterChef, an #AI-based program aimed at optimizing the hazardous waste mix fed to the incinerator. The use of digital solutions based on artificial intelligence allows data analysis to optimize treatment operations and the plant’s environmental performance by reducing toxic emissions. The Group is also conducting R&D programs on innovative solutions for: 🔶 treating waste that contains sulfur 🔶 capturing fluorinated gases to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 🔶 extracting per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) As a major player in pollution control, Veolia positions itself as the historical partner of industries to treat their hazardous waste in compliance with the most recent regulations and with respect for the environment. 🔗 Learn more about our Port Arthur’s facility: https://xmrrwallet.com/cmx.plnkd.in/eZnx-UHV

📣 Veolia announces a major technological breakthrough with the launch in Europe of a new patented #technology, Drop®, effective to achieve up to 99.9999% destruction of targeted #PFAS, through an incineration process at over 900°C. Developed in the Group’s global research centers and deployed across its 20 incineration lines dedicated to hazardous waste, the patented Drop® technology enables the removal of the persistent pollutants with an efficiency rate of up to 99.9999% on several targeted PFAS. This major #innovation addresses one of the most complex environmental challenges of our time: the treatment and disposal of PFAS and waste that may contain PFAS. These substances, used in many industrial and domestic applications since the 1940s, are particularly difficult to treat and degrade due to their carbon-fluorine bonds, which are among the strongest in organic chemistry. Their persistence in the environment and their potential effects on human #health make them a concern from both a health and industrial perspective. Drop®, a disruptive innovation capable of eliminating targeted PFAS while preserving the integrity of industrial facilities.💧 🔗 Read the press release: https://xmrrwallet.com/cmx.plnkd.in/enUuYeVf

📝 During the last General Meeting of Veolia Environnement shareholders, Veolia’s #purpose was included in the company’s articles of association. It embodies our ambition: to be useful to society by reconciling human progress with environmental protection. When Veolia adopted its purpose in 2019, it became one of the first companies listed on the Paris stock exchange to question the deep-rooted reason that underpins everything it does. The Group wanted to see its identity, commitments and goals expressed in a single statement setting out its mission. #EcologicalTransformation is our purpose. 🔗 https://xmrrwallet.com/cmx.plnkd.in/ehUGHvy5

🔥 High-temperature #incineration is one of Veolia’s solutions for treating hazardous waste when no other recycling or recovery options are suitable. Incineration eliminates the waste’s toxic potential and reduces its volume by breaking down complex organic molecules. This thermal treatment process is used for a wide range of hazardous #waste from industry, healthcare and local authorities, including: 🔹 contaminated packaging and materials 🔹 oily sludge 🔹 pharmaceutical 🔹 reagents Veolia’s R&D department strives to reduce the carbon footprint of the high-temperature incineration process, focusing on capturing CO2 emitted by incineration by-products during combustion. The Group conducts furnace tests, looking at using energy from the incineration process to maintain combustion temperatures. It is also examining energy storage solutions as a way of reducing the electricity required to heat the air needed for incineration. Veolia operates over 60 specialist incineration plants worldwide, safely processing these waste streams from A to Z to protect public #health and the #environment. 🔗To learn more about hazardous waste: https://xmrrwallet.com/cmx.plnkd.in/efNjNGzN
