🌱Students learn best by actively participating in activities and then reflecting on those experiences.   This summer, our #STEM community program for primary students set off to Shanghai’s Chongming—a beautiful, green island known for its natural scenery, wetlands, and fresh air—to experience the future of smart agriculture firsthand.   Out in the fields, students learned to observe ecology up close. When a leaf turns yellow, it doesn’t just mean it’s dry—it could signal a fungal disease. Fungal infections are a major contributor to crop losses. Rebecca Fu, our Group CFO, showed students how a Ping An #smartagriculture app leveraging technologies like AI and IoT can aid early detection and monitoring of fungal outbreaks.   🧑🌾For generations, farmers have had to bet everything on the land and the weather. A single pest outbreak, flood, or typhoon could wipe out their harvest. But things are changing. With #AI, #bigdata, and #IoT, farmers can now assess risks and act before disaster strikes.    Take the Ainongbao app, developed by Ping An Property & Casualty, as an example: it helps farmers monitor the climate to mitigate losses from extreme weather events, detect pest populations in real-time, and conduct precision farming to improve crop yields.   Like all the other volunteers of Ping An’s "Science and Technology Literacy Improvement Program for Teenagers", Rebecca believes that active engagement and applying knowledge in real-world situations is crucial to learning.
