Dealing with traffic noise and safety concerns in your neighborhood? The Canadian Bank Note Company (CBNC) was facing similar challenges at their Ottawa distribution center, located in a busy residential area. We partnered with HUGHSON GROUP to deliver a custom acoustic barrier system that not only reduced noise, but also enhanced safety, thanks to the creative use of stacked transparent panels that maintained clear sightlines at key intersections. We had an awesome couple of days at the Ontario Pork Congress in Stratford, ON (June 17–18)! The Pork Congress celebrates community, history and the hog industry’s future, and we were proud to showcase our hog and dairy slats, along with our posts and beams. Our team had an incredible time at #NoiseCon2025! Big thank you to Shannon McKenna from Cross-Spectrum Acoustics Inc. for inviting us to share at this event! We had a great time talking all things sound absorption for rail transit infrastructure. Durisol’s very own Lisa Rienstra walked through some standout projects where our noise panels were installed on retaining walls and fences to absorb reflected sound, as well as rail silencers placed near the tracks to reduce wheel-rail noise - highlighting a tunnel project in Chicago lined top to bottom with Durisol panels. EKHO Infrastructure Solutions Research & Development, Product Manager; Gary Figallo expanded further on this presentation diving into the acoustic performance of our cementitious wood fiber panels, compared to plastic or aluminum panels filled with mineral wool, emphasizing Durisol’s superior versatility in form, finish, and function.
