Our team travelled to Ambipar’s training facility in Bristol last week to receive training on practical responses to Hazardous Noxious Substances (HNS) incidents. The training was focused on decontamination, monitoring and sensors, confined spaces and included practical deployment of equipment and donning of specialist Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required when handling HNS. Ambipar generously took the time to demonstrate equipment, give a tour of its base in Bristol, and share the training that HNS responders receive. The event was also a chance for an information exchange between ITOPF and Ambipar, focusing on lessons learned from recent incidents both organisations attended and how some of the training was used in practice. Day two of the training was focused on tabletop scenarios.   We greatly appreciated the two-day training as our team got to grips with practical equipment and benefited from Ambipar’s knowledge of HNS response. It was also a chance for the Ambipar and ITOPF teams to network and discuss how better to collaborate on incidents in the future. #hazardousnoxioussubstances #trainingexercise

  • Ambipar Ireland has deployed six new 86m³ mobile storage tankers to support liquid waste operations across the country.   Each unit provides almost 3.5 times the capacity of a standard articulated tanker, offering high-volume storage with a compact footprint. Fully permitted for use in Ireland, they’re suitable for both hazardous and non-hazardous waste, including effluent.   These tankers strengthen our national response capability for spills, floods, and industrial incidents—delivering reliable, scalable support where and when it's needed.   #EnvironmentalResponse #EmergencyManagement #LiquidWasteManagement #AmbiparIreland

  • Heatwaves are no longer rare events in Europe—they’re becoming seasonal realities. Rising temperatures and longer heat spells pose urgent risks to industrial operations, turning theoretical hazards into immediate threats to environmental safety and business continuity. High heat causes pipes and tanks to expand, seals to weaken, and materials to fatigue faster. Combined with UV damage and aging infrastructure, these factors increase equipment failure risks and environmental incidents. Such failures can also pose serious risks to human health and safety, including exposure to hazardous substances, increased fire hazards, and potential injuries to personnel and nearby communities. Real-World impacts we’re seeing: - Drainage systems, especially older or poorly maintained ones, struggle under heat stress, leading to overflows and hazardous runoff. - Plastic pipes and tanks exposed to direct sunlight warp or crack, potentially leaking chemicals or oils. - Bulk containers expand in the heat, risking rupture or seal failure, particularly when unshaded. - Fire risks soar at waste and recycling sites, and resulting firewater runoff can contaminate soil and waterways. These issues cause environmental harm, regulatory penalties, and costly downtime — all of which could have been prevented with sufficient heatwave preparedness. From awareness to prevention: Understanding how extreme heat affects infrastructure before, during, and after heatwaves is key. For example, thermal contraction after heat can reveal hidden pipeline weaknesses causing delayed leaks. Effective prevention combines: - Regular maintenance and inspections, - Environmental monitoring, - Heat-rated packaging and containers, - UV protection for storage areas, and - Risk training for staff. Prevention isn’t just compliance—it’s an investment in resilience. How Ambipar supports heatwave resilience: Ambipar’s European teams help industrial clients prepare for heat risks through thermographic inspections, remote monitoring, emergency containment, DGSA site assessments, and water-saving technologies for environmental response. With technical expertise and rapid response, we help clients anticipate, manage, and reduce heatwave risks. Is your operation ready for the next heatwave? Contact us at sales.response@ambipar.com to discuss how to strengthen your environmental risk strategy before the next temperature spike. #HeatwavePreparedness #IndustrialResilience #RiskManagement

  • We’re proud to partner in the NACEMAP Project, funded by the EU Interreg Northern Periphery and Arctic programme. Through our team in Ireland, Ambipar are proud contributors to this vital initiative running until February 2028. NACEMAP (Northern and Arctic Communities Emergency Management and Preparedness) supports Northern Periphery and Arctic (NPA) communities in strengthening their resilience to future disasters. We’re working collaboratively with partners in Ireland, Finland, and Iceland to develop a comprehensive three-part toolkit on preparedness and post-incident recovery. These tools will be pilot tested in real-world scenarios, including oil spills on Ireland’s Atlantic coast, mass‑rescue operations in Iceland, avalanche response planning, and wildfires in Finland. The project follows an inclusive, consultative approach engaging municipalities, first responders, NGOs, and local communities through structured roundtable workshops. Together, we’re identifying gaps, mapping risks, and sharing solutions that can be applied across the NPA region and beyond. This is a strong example of how cross-border collaboration can drive innovation and create more resilient communities. • Did you know that heatwaves have become 5 times more frequent globally since the 1950s? Extreme heat is no longer just a weather concern — it’s a catalyst for cascading environmental risks that threaten infrastructure, water supplies, air quality, and community safety. Many organisations recognise the problem but struggle to understand the full scope or how to address it effectively. At Ambipar, we understand the importance of anticipating these threats. With global expertise in environmental risk management, we help industries and communities prepare, respond, and recover safely. Swipe through to learn more about the impacts of extreme heat and how prevention makes all the difference. #RiskManagement #HeatPreparedness #EnvironmentalSafety

  • Ambipar is honoured to be recognised as a Green World Ambassador 2025 by The Green Organisation. The ceremony was held at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London, where Ambipar was acknowledged for its innovative AmbiAlcohol (previously Green Alcohol) initiative. This project transforms food industry waste, such as expired products and production leftovers, into high-quality ethanol for cleaning and sanitation purposes. By repurposing these materials, we not only reduce food waste but also decrease greenhouse gas emissions associated with traditional disposal methods. Our AmbiAlcohol initiative will also be included in the Green Trend Book, an internationally respected publication showcasing exemplary environmental practices and innovations. This recognition underscores our commitment to advancing environmentally responsible chemical solutions, promoting a circular economy, and leading the way towards a more sustainable future.   #GreenWorldAmbassador #TheGreenWorldOrganisation #GreenAlcohol #EnvironmentalLeadership

  • As part of our commitment to environmental protection and community engagement, the Ambipar Spain team joined the launch of the 2025 summer season at Cabo de Palos – kicking off a campaign that will take us to beaches across the Spanish coast in the months ahead. Our goal: to engage local communities and raise awareness of the often-overlooked threats facing our coastal environments. One of the most urgent of these threats is microplastic pollution. These tiny particles, invisible to the naked eye, can remain in the environment for decades. When plastic is left on the beach, it is often broken down by wind, waves, and foot traffic, eventually being carried into the sea or buried in the sand. Mistaken for food by wildlife and marine life — from plankton to fish and seabirds — they eventually reach us through the seafood we consume, the water we drink, and even the air we breathe. Microplastics disrupt delicate ecosystems because they carry toxic chemicals, and addressing this issue is not only crucial but also demands both environmental expertise and proactive local engagement — a combination at the heart of Ambipar’s approach. That’s why this summer Ambipar Spain is combining their environmental risk management capabilities with on-the-ground outreach, empowering individuals to help protect the coastline. We want to equip everyday people with the knowledge and tools to preserve marine ecosystems and create lasting change. Protecting our beaches starts with simple, everyday choices, and together, we can create real change. Stay tuned on our social channels for updates on our broader environmental commitment across Europe. #AmbiparSpain #MarineEcosystems #EnvironmentalProtection
