AI: The power behind a sustainable future
Welcome to April's edition of Power Up! Today, we’re taking a closer look at the intersection of AI and sustainability; plus, we're sharing latest NBCUniversal Catalyst docuseries on reimagining prosumers and grids, a new climate smart village initiative in India, a celebration of marathon runners in both Paris & Boston, and the launch of our new Environmental Data Program. Settle in and enjoy.
The world stands at the intersection of two defining forces of our time: the exponential rise of artificial intelligence (AI) and the urgent imperative of sustainability. As industries worldwide embrace the digital revolution, the demand for energy, resources, and infrastructure is surging. Yet within this acceleration lies a powerful opportunity, where technology becomes an enabler, not an obstacle, to a more efficient and resilient future.
This NBCUniversal Catalyst report explores how AI, automation, and digital innovation are transforming critical sectors from data centers and smart grids to sustainable buildings and water stewardship. It showcases pioneering technologies and collaborative strategies that converge growth with sustainability.
Reimagining grid & prosumer for sustainable impact
In our latest NBCUniversal Catalyst docuseries “Reimagining industries for sustainable impact,” Nadège Petit, Chief Innovation Officer, explores the transformation of our relationship with energy and the energy system as we know it. This is not just a necessity: it's an opportunity to reshape our world for the better. AI will be at the core of the modern electrical grid, using the vast amount of data collected to develop predictive models of energy production and consumption and manage distributed resources accordingly.
But to make this a reality, we need collaboration across the entire ecosystem. Utilities, grid operators, energy management companies, industries, and prosumers must embrace new solutions for a transition ultimately benefiting businesses, communities and our planet.
Advancing rural India with the climate smart village initiative
Access to reliable electricity has long been a challenge for many rural communities in India, hindering progress in essential sectors such as agriculture, education, and healthcare. In the heart of India’s Jharkhand state, the villages of Sehal and Chatti in Gumla district have embarked on a transformative journey towards sustainable development.
Through a strategic collaboration between Schneider Electric and the NGO PRADAN, the Climate Smart Village initiative is redefining rural livelihoods by integrating renewable energy solutions into the fabric of daily life.
Watch the "Tomorrow Rising, Season 2" web series
Tomorrow Rising is an original series by the Schneider Electric Foundation, which has been dedicated to supporting youth as the primary drivers of social transition. In its second season, the series embodies the spirit of innovation, resilience, and hope through the stories of five remarkable young individuals from around the globe. Their journeys highlight how personal initiatives can lead to transformative change and contribute to a better tomorrow.
In this new episode, meet Shirley, a 17-year-old dedicated student from Peru, actively engaged in her community. Her dream is to attend a prestigious university to become an electrical engineer. Despite the challenges that stand in her way, Shirley remains determined to prove her skills and pursue her dreams.
Running for a cause and making an impact: Meet Greg Magdanz
Greg Magdanz, VP of OEM, Drives & Robotics Sales, ran the Boston Marathon on April 21st to support a cause close to his heart. His journey reflects the company's commitment to sustainability and community impact, showcasing how personal determination and corporate values intersect to drive positive change.
Witness the triumph, feel the impact: Paris Marathon 2025
On Sunday, April 13th, 56,950 runners🏃♂️ embraced the challenge of the Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris. This event was a true celebration of athleticism and perseverance with 51% first-time marathoners.
Every step, every mile, and every personal victory contributed to the magic of the day. We saw unforgettable moments of joy, tears, and incredible accomplishments as 55,499 runners crossed the finish line, including over 6,000 #SEGreenRunners—a mix of employees, customers, partners, suppliers, and ambassadors.
Advancing product environmental data transparency
Better and more transparent environmental data is needed to manage our impact on the world, for example through the products we design, companies we operate, and choices we make. At Schneider Electric, we have taken a step forward in our sustainability journey with the launch of our new Environmental Data Program.
