The J.M. Smucker Co.’s Post

Our Summer 2025 interns recently sat down with Chief Executive Officer and Chair of the Board, Mark Smucker, for our annual “Cup of Joe with the CEO” event. This longstanding tradition is something our interns look forward to every year. It presents a wholly unique opportunity to learn about our Company’s history, strategy, and culture from our fifth-generation Smucker family leader. This year, we also hosted an online session for the interns who work in our operations, sales, and remote locations across the continent. We hope Mark and our intern classes continue to enjoy this tradition for years to come!

What a great tradition? I'm curious, what was the most intriguing question from the interns?

As an Executive Assistant, part of my job was to ensure that my VP had face time with not only her direct reports and team, but with visiting associates, young people participating in Engineering Day, summer help students and co-ops. These latter associates could be our future employees or competitors so I saw that she had time to inspire them. Nice tradition, Mr. Smucker.
