Ash by Slingshot AI reposted this
Can AI make mental health more accessible? When done RIGHT, yes! I tried Ash by Slingshot AI and was surprised by how different it felt from any AI I had tested before. It launched today - give it a try and let me know what you think of your experience in the comments ⬇️
I’m excited to announce Ash by Slingshot AI, the first AI designed for therapy backed by $93M in funding from the world’s top mission-driven investors. The truth is, I never talk about my own mental health journey. But I can share that I do know firsthand what it’s like to put on a strong face. I know what it’s like to struggle to be understood. And I know, firsthand, that the mental health system is broken. It waits until there’s a problem and then puts you in a bucket and assigns you a label. You don’t need a label and you don’t need a fortune to be worthy of getting support. This has been the most personal mission of my life. And today, after 18 months of building with the best team I've ever worked with, we're ready to share Ash with all those who need it as much as we do. Ash isn't ChatGPT. It won't tell you what you want to hear or try to be your friend. Ash challenges you, takes you on a journey, and helps you see your problems in new ways. Most of all, Ash can understand you. Ready to talk? #slingshotai #talktoash #ai #mentalhealth #launch

This is great. Thanks for sharing.
Lori Gottlieb - has been awesome getting to know you, and thank you for trying Ash :)
This a game changer and I think it’s something that mental health practitioners should embrace and figure out how they work with it and use it rather than fight it. There are far too many people in the world who need mental health support and far too few therapists let alone good ones and even then the vast majority people can’t afford them. This can only be positive done in the right responsible way which i believe they are doing a great job at especially for a company still pretty early in its journey

1wDid you watch the videos of "clients"? Did you hear them trash talking our colleagues? Blaming our colleagues for systemic failures that are largely out of our hands? I am not against AI. I am not against AI as a between-sessions tool. I'm not even against AI as something that provides support for those who cannot access therapeutic care with a real human. What I am against is "solving" the problems of an overburdened mental healthcare system, overworked providers, and underserved clients—by building a business that undermines humans clinicians and shortchanges human clients. I loved your book. Please rethink your support. Your words carry weight.
