Where Fear Abides, Man Is Robbed Of His True Identity | Seed Gallery This preparatory sketch for Nya’s work “Mburuchusi,” exposes the impenitent nature of oppression. The two figures, with burnt heads, trapped in gross darkness, and with their hands stretched out in a helpless, lackadaisical and beggarly manner clearly depicts how oppression keeps a person, a people, a nation, a race or society in a perpetual cycle of complaining, dependency, despondency, discouragement and utter confusion. In essence, oppression is a by-product of a stronghold and a stronghold is built and sustained by the wiles, lies, accusations, allegations, insults and criticisms systematically launched and repeatedly hurled by a well-governed system under the control and influence of the spirit of fear. The print was produced on the occasion of “A true leader abides in his identity,” a book that employs x-rays from Nya’s work, “Heir of Inheritance,” to reveal how the spirit of fear employs oppression to distort Mankind’s inherent leadership image. Know your value. A dying father gave his son a watch and said, “My father gave me this watch, it is over 200 years old. Take it to a jeweler, and see what it is worth.” The son took the watch to the jeweler and asked what it was worth. The jeweler offered $10, as it was too old and beyond repair. When the son returned, he related the story to his father. The father calmly said, “now take the watch to a pawn shop, and find out what they would offer for the watch.” The son did so, but the pawn shop offered just $5 for the old watch. Upon returning to his father, the son reported the similarly low offer for the watch. The father smiled, and said “Please take the watch to the museum, for an appraisal of its worth.” The son did as was asked, and took the watch to a museum. The curator, upon looking at the watch, offered $1 million dollars, and told the son they would add it to their collection of rare and precious antique watches. The moral of the story, know your worth. Don’t offer your services to those who do not appreciate your effort. Be confident in what you can do. Don’t stay where you are not valued. #confidence #leadership #knowyourworth #value #contribution

🍌 $6.2 Million for a Banana? The Art World Goes Bananas! 🎨 Sotheby's just auctioned off the "world's most expensive banana" in New York. But this isn't your average fruit... It's 'Comedian' - the viral 2019 artwork by Italian provocateur Maurizio Cattelan. The piece? A banana duct-taped to a wall. Yes, you read that right. 🤯 Some key points about this fruity phenomenon: • Originally displayed at Art Basel Miami Beach in 2019 • Initial price tag: $120,000 - $150,000 • Sparked a social media frenzy • Performance artist David Datuna ate the banana off the wall • Featured on the New York Post cover Cattelan's intent? A biting commentary on market speculation and the arbitrary nature of value in the art world. This sale raises some intriguing questions: What determines an artwork's value? How does virality impact pricing in the art market? Is this brilliant satire or just bananas? 🤔 Let's peel back the layers on this one. What's your take on 'Comedian' and its multi-million dollar price tag? follow me @ jalal sabsabi #ArtMarket #ContemporaryArt #ValuePerception #ViralArt
