What began as a weekend project to automate loan servicing with voice AI quickly turned into something bigger: a fully integrated platform now used by fintechs and some of the biggest banks in the U.S. In this conversation with YC Partner Diana Hu, the co-founders talk about cold emailing 500 lenders a day, landing Westlake Financial (a $25B lender) with a Steve Jobs–voiced AI demo, and literally moving across California to sit next to that customer until they went live. Since then, Salient has scaled from a few hundred to 400,000+ calls a day, handled $1B+ in loans for 3M+ borrowers, and is powering tens of millions in revenue— all with a team of just 10 engineers.
