I’m delighted to announce the launch of the Weill Cancer Hub West, a groundbreaking initiative that brings together the exceptional talent at Stanford Medicine and the University of California, San Francisco. This collaboration, made possible by the visionary support of the Weill Family Foundation, aims to transform cancer care over the next decade. We are immensely grateful to Joan and Sandy I. Weill for their generous contribution, which will enable us to further enhance cancer research and accelerate the development of innovative therapies for patients everywhere. https://xmrrwallet.com/cmx.plnkd.in/gT7X9jTB

2dInspiring philanthropic vision catalyzing cross-disciplinary cancer innovation -- a big boost to an urgently needed cause at a critical time. As someone building an automated platform DAFS for phenotypic body habitus analysis from CT imaging (see attached image), with multiple applications in, and scalable across cancer workflows worldwide, this resonates deeply. It’s a constant challenge to fund translational tools like DAFS: too translational for academic grants focused on hypothesis testing, and not yet revenue-generating enough to attract VC attention. The missing link for us is a connection to visionary philanthropists who can see the long-term impact of building, validating and deploying such tools, something large institutions can facilitate, but incredibly difficult for individual scientists pursuing transformational change seeking to go beyond academic papers and deliver something others can use. We’re always open to conversations and keen to offer our collaboration where our contributions can help accelerate meaningful progress towards improved outcomes to cancer treatments.
