Love these market updates! Always insightful and relevant for investors.
The rally may fade or continue on until it looses some steam. We could get a pullback in which case it may be time to break out your shopping list. Despite all the quantum mechanical and AI models that have been built to predict the stock market the truth is that stocks go up when there are more buyers than sellers and they go down when there are more sellers than buyers. In order to protect your portfolio against significant volatility it helps to use Modern Portfolio Theory and diversify your assets against a wide variety of selections (not a variety of single stocks). Even having a diverse portfolio does not completely protect you from downside risk. Ultimately looking at longer time frames than quarterly we can see that the market has gone up significantly over the past 80 years and I would encourage all investors (not traders) to have faith that in the long run a well diversified portfolio should produce a decent return. Whether or not you will be able to retire on that is whole separate ball game and depends on a plethora of factors including spending habits, assets, savings habits, etc. All of this emphasizes the importance of financial planning and execution.
It's fascinating to see how market dynamics can shift so rapidly. What key indicators do you think will be pivotal in determining whether this rally has more legs?
