During November, our #HHSVeteransSpotlight is celebrating #veterans like Dr. Miriam Dinatale, a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) at FDA and a Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)' Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service. As a CMO for FDA's Division of Pediatrics and Maternal Health, Dr. Dinatale oversees quality initiatives that improve pregnancy and lactation-related information in prescription medication labeling, as well as advance research in pregnancy and lactation. “In a previous role, I was seeing patients in a clinic, one at a time, but I feel that I am having a bigger impact in the area that I’m working in now as a maternal health subject matter expert at the FDA,” Dr. Dinatale said.
