"Minimum Viable Product" isn't good enough. You need a Minimum LOVEABLE Product. ❤️ Last week, our new CEO at Curology, Kathy Savitt, dropped this pearl of wisdom at her first board meeting—and it stuck. Too often, traditional "MVP" thinking leads to shipping something that works... but doesn’t wow. It checks boxes. It functions. But does it spark joy? Create loyalty? Feel magical? Usually not. "MLP" flips that thinking entirely. Instead of asking: 👉 “What’s the minimum we can ship?” We ask: ✨ “What’s the simplest version that customers will LOVE?” Because the best products don’t win just by working—they win by resonating. Think about it: 🎵 Spotify started with just instant streaming. No podcasts, no social. But that magic of immediate access? 💥 📸 Instagram launched with square photos and filters. No stories, no reels. But that simplicity? Addictive. 💸 Venmo was just bill-splitting. But the social feed? It made paying friends fun. At Curology, this lens is guiding how we solve skin challenges with the world’s most personalized Rx formulations—and how we design magical experiences worth loving from day one. The best founders know: You can’t iterate your way from something nobody wants to something everybody loves. But you can start with something simple that people love—and build from there. Kathy’s consumer instincts (from Yahoo, Amazon, AEO, Boom Supersonic) are razor-sharp. She gets it—and she’s helping us reimagine not just skincare delivery, but what it means to deliver confidence. Let’s build what people can’t imagine living without. Even in V1. 🚀 What’s a product you loved from its very first version? Drop it below. 👇 #ProductDevelopment #Leadership #MinimumLoveableProduct #ConsumerExperience #BuildTheFuture
I will say I find myself begrudgingly using a lot of successful software that I definitely do not love (looking at most Microsoft products)
Love this!! Excited to be operating with this mindset.
Fay lives and dies by MLP philosophy
A product that resonates from day one is a game-changer. Aim for love, not just function.
Memory Lane Machine’s MLP definitely has the peoples heart! They love the innovative solution of a Digital Monument. Memory Lane Machine is not focused on creating a Monument, but Redefining Remembrance through Digital Innovation.
Yes! Reminds me of the MVP vs EVP (Exceptional viable product) approach that I’ve always loved!
Completely agree.
Even before our MVP, people loved the concept…When we it, they were so excited, they offered to pay upfront just to use it 🙌💕
LOVE this from you!
