Marc Andreessen says social media is an x-ray machine, revealing what legacy media used to keep hidden. "And so the world that you experience with social media as a consumer is completely different." We’ve moved from mediated trust to direct scrutiny. The filter is gone. Everything’s visible now.
Andreessen Horowitz we should get away from toxic social networks. 🍀❤️
Marc hates traditional media because they sometimes ask tough questions and he loves social media because it's much easier to bullshit and he never has to answer any tough questions. He is deeply insecure and hates a world where he has any accountability whatsoever.

I have a feeling this edit could be better - the context is missing. Not really value add / people felt that way about traditional media before social media. Every generation is raised to question mainstream consensus when alternative views aren’t available. Now it’s a chore to sift through many sources and select one without bias that truthful.

If you believe in bold bets with trillion-dollar potential, let’s talk.
Super over generalization, but OK. "Old Media" had journalistic standards, and errors were corrected, and for the most part conspiracy theories were not allowed to run rampant. Social Media is good a spreading misinformation, not so good at facts and reality.
Absolutely, Marc! Social media has indeed become our new x-ray machine 🙌 It's fascinating to see the shift from mediated trust to direct scrutiny. But as everything becomes visible now, how do we ensure this transparency leads to constructive conversations rather than divisive debates? Thoughts? #DigitalOptimism #SocialMediaEvolution 💡🌐
Wrong... Marc is wrong: "everything's visible now" On the contrary, algorithms still determine what we can see. They just do it in invisible ways that are becoming more and more hidden: via shadow bans, filtered or curated feeds and other forms of platform-driven suppression of content. Social media did not eliminate the filter; it has only transferred it from the old editors to an AI black box and attention-maximizing algorithms.
