Why sound CI/CD matters
- If you've been lucky enough, you've been able to work on a development team where everything was really just right where it was supposed to be. Everything was very predictable. Everything felt good, clean, smooth, nimble. The whole team is able to work together in a beautiful way. If you've had enough time working on projects, I hope you've had the chance to experience that bliss. It's fabulous. But I've not always had that opportunity. In fact, most projects that I've worked on have not quite been that way, especially if I'm including projects from my very early years, or if I'm including projects where I didn't really have the luxury of getting to start the project, I just had to inherit it from somebody else. Projects don't always end up right where they're supposed to be from the engineer's perspective. Sometimes, things just kind of go haywire at some point.
