Conceptual 3D Model View Options
- Model view options and 3D view options allow the 3D elements to be graphically represented in a variety of ways. In this video, we will select options that simplify the representation to help us focus on conceptual design, both when we're working in 3D and in 2D. From the top pull-down menu, we're going to select "view", "3D view options", And we see that the current option selected is "detailed shading." We're going to change this to "white model with shadows" in order to remove all of the colors or materiality or "surfaces" as it's called in Archicad, so that we're focusing less on the applied surface, and more on the architectural form during the early stages of the design process. We can now see that that has highly simplified our 3D model. If we go to our project map, in our navigator on the right-hand side of the screen, I'm going to double click on my "ground floor view".
