The Intersect Group is partnered with our client that has an opening for a Senior Business Analyst – Business Intelligence for their Irving office.
6 month contract with the right to hire (should be extended every 6 months until headcount is available for direct hire)
No C2C or third-party submissions
Location: Irving 75062 (near Hwy 114 and N O’Conner Road)
Schedule: Hybrid, 3 days onsite Tuesday through Thursday
Interview Process: 1st virtual; 2nd onsite
Summary:
Develops user stories and product backlogs for a domain of products. Owns the lifecycle for a portfolio of interrelated products and is an expert in one domain (e.g., GPO, Clinical, Workforce). Leads analysis of requirements and impact on applications and/or business processes and across other domains.
This position will primarily be aligned with business leaders to understand and document requirements for Business Intelligence projects - visualization and reporting needs, data integrations and data quality issues, and working with data engineering team to acquire data
Strong preference for someone with a healthcare/pharmacy background, since the majority of data/reporting is related to the 340B discount drug pricing program and pharmaceutical spend data
Needs:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, MIS, or relevant degree preferred.
5+ years of experience in Agile business analysis in Technology project teams required.
Knowledge of Business Process analysis and diagramming.
Agile Scrum business analysis experience with user stories and backlogs required.
Excellent business requirements elicitation, analysis, and documentation skills.
Knowledge of Data Analytics/Data Warehousing/Big Data concepts; experience gathering requirements/writing user stories for business intelligence projects
Knowledge/experience with MicroStrategy (now rebranded Strategy) for dashboard development would be a differentiator
Ability to understand complex business areas and applications.
Knowledge of software test methodologies
Working knowledge of Azure DevOps for requirement documentation preferred.
Proficiency in SQL preferred (basic select statements and joins); expertise not required
Knowledge of pharmacy/ healthcare/healthcare supply chain and/or 340B products a plus.
Exceptional communication and professionalism + documentation skills are critical for this role.
This is an Agile BA role focused on documentation, not a Data Analyst role that’s querying data and creating reports/dashboards for the business and insights themselves and just doing some requirements gathering themselves to better understand requests.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the documentation of user requirements and translation of user stories for a domain of products
Plans, conducts, and oversees stakeholder interviews to gather requirements and/or understand current business processes.
Develops and maintains product backlog(s) and guides others on dependent stories.
Leads Agile ceremonies, drives the discussion for sprint planning and user story refinement, and participates in Scrum
Clarifies requirements questions and dependencies across systems during sprint planning and testing.
Leads or provides support to others during the user refinement ceremony.
Acts with the Product Owner from inception to completion of a project.
Oversee others in fielding questions from stakeholders/end users during user acceptance testing and triage performance.
Considers cost effectiveness while conducting gap analyses to identify solutions that meet business requirements.
Help guide business owners and technical architects to set a strategic product direction and scope out project efforts.
Provide direction to others as they collaborate with the development team to ensure designs meet customer requirements.
Writes SQL queries to review application data to identify and triage discrepancies.
Identifies inefficiencies and suggests product efficiencies as they relate to projects.
Acts as a leader and mentor for cross-functional initiatives, providing direction to analysts assigned to a project.
Meets training requirements, follows established procedures, and proposes new procedures.
Oversee the estimation process for work products.
Works across team boundaries for reusability, standardization, etc.
Trains team on standards and procedures.
