The Job: We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Key Account Sales Manager to join a growing commercial bakery manufacturer in the North East. This role is pivotal in driving sales growth, building lasting partnerships, and maintaining the highest standards of customer satisfaction. As a Key Account Sales Manager, you will play a crucial role in not only closing significant contracts but also nurturing long-term relationships with customers to drive sustainable business growth. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to communicate the value of our products and ensure that our customer partnerships thrive.


  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans across multi channels within retail and food service based on our targeted “ideal customer” methodology; close new business while expanding sales and market share with existing customers.
  • Ability to analyze strategic sales plan in real time, making adjustments where needed in order to hit key metrics and growth objectives.
  • Identify, target and close ideal new customers: those which align with our strategic sales plan model focusing on quality, consistency, and partnership.
  • Manage and expand a combination of retail and foodservice brokers to expand representation in our target markets, maintaining relationships, performing ride along visits and retail store checks, and building reports and analytics to ensure ROI.
  • Identify, plan, attend, and track sales efforts at key trade shows and related events across the East Coast and Nationally where needed.
  • Maintain a detailed sales funnel reporting system, overseeing and processing analytics to ensure ROI and growth.
  • Partner with colleagues across marketing, operations, product development, finance and logistics) to ensure customer expectations are met and exceeded; support production, scheduling and on-time, accurate delivery of products to customers.
  • Collaboratively work with finance on production annual forecasting and budgets, keeping customer payment status on time, and engaging customers to resolve outstanding issues.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent combination of work and education.
  • 5+ years of sales experience with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding annual sales plans.
  • Multi-channel bakery/deli, perishable or related food sales and broker management experience required.
  • Deep rolodex of industry buyer and broker relationships that can be leveraged immediately upon hiring.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills with strong ability to influence, attention to detail, and ability to provide high customer service.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal and written).
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint. (Experience utilizing CRM and/or ERP preferred.)


Salary: $85,000 + bonus incentives (OTE $100,000)


Work Style: Full time permanent position, remote with travel (Candidates can be located within the North East USA. Travel throughout the East Coast equals ~50%. Ability to travel within territory a must.)
