Electrical Engineer – Power Electronics

My client are an exciting new Space company and they are looking for an Electrical Engineer with a strong background in power systems, including batteries, solar panels, and energy storage, and experience designing for space environments to join their team.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test power systems for space applications, including solar arrays, battery systems, and power distribution units.
  • Develop and validate circuit designs for efficiency, reliability, and robustness under space-grade environmental constraints.
  • Support system-level integration activities, including troubleshooting, resolving interface issues, and verifying power subsystem performance during spacecraft assembly, integration, and testing (AIT).

Ideal Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in power system design, including solar panels, batteries, and power electronics.
  • Experience with space-grade systems and knowledge of radiation effects, thermal cycling, and reliability engineering.
  • Proficiency in circuit design, simulation, and analysis tools (e.g., SPICE, MATLAB, Altium Designer, etc.).
  • Knowledge of spacecraft power systems, including MPPT algorithms, energy storage, and power distribution architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with environmental testing and qualification processes for space applications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
