It's not enough to say your misconduct process is fair; you need to show it. Without clear documentation and third-party support, you risk opening the door to legal exposure, employee distrust, and reputational harm. A firm policy is only half the equation. CLO Travis O. Foster breaks down why consistent, defensible action is what protects your organization. #WorkShield #MisconductManagement #WorkplaceMisconduct

What makes a workplace investigation fair? Good intentions don’t guarantee fairness; process does. According to the EEOC, fairness means: ✅ Listening to the employee’s concerns ✅ Asking the supervisor to explain their reasoning and decision-making ✅ Checking for consistency across similar situations ✅ Taking action if discrimination is found and remedying any harm caused ✅ Transparently share the investigation outcome with the employee ✅ Documenting every step taken Want to create a safer workplace through fair investigations? Is your internal investigation process protecting you or putting you at risk? When it comes to workplace risk management, your strategy is only as strong as your weakest link. For many organizations, that weak point is internal HR investigations. Even with the best intentions, internal teams often lack the neutrality and structure to carry out fair, unbiased investigations. The result? Perceived favoritism, prolonged timelines and increased legal exposure. According to the 2024 EEOC report, retaliation remains one of the most frequently cited complaints. A poorly handled internal investigation doesn’t just fail to protect you; it can create new risks entirely. That’s why neutral third-party investigations are no longer “nice to have.” They’re a cornerstone of modern workplace risk mitigation. If your internal processes wouldn’t stand up to EEOC scrutiny or employee trust tests, it’s time for a reset. Let’s talk about how Work Shield can help protect your people and your reputation. https://xmrrwallet.com/cmx.pbit.ly/4oDBODg #WorkShield #RiskManagement #HRLeadership #WorkplaceInvestigations

Too many leaders dismiss workplace complaints as “one-offs.” But the EEOC doesn’t see it that way, and neither do the courts. When leadership misinterprets or disregards EEOC guidance, minor misconduct can escalate into full-blown litigation. The result? Multi-million dollar settlements, broken employee trust, and long-term compliance monitoring. Take investigations seriously before they become headlines. Today at Work Shield, our first annual Bring Your Child to Work Day is in full swing. From Jenga battles to dry erase wall doodles to meeting toy dinos, the office is filled with the sounds of kids exploring, laughing, and seeing where their parents work. So far, the day has included Chick-fil-A Restaurants for lunch, unlimited snacks, a movie on the big boardroom screen, and time for play. The little ones are feeling big, and we big adults are getting to feel like kids again. We are so grateful to everyone who brought their children to the office and to those who made today such a special experience! #LifeAtWorkShield #BringYourChildToWorkDay

Here’s a first for Work Shield — we’ve got our very first intern! Meet James Hoak. He’s spending the summer with us, shadowing our CEO, Jared Pope, and getting a front-row seat to how we’re building safer, more respectful workplaces. James jumped right in and has been soaking it all up — asking questions, observing how things work, and getting a feel for the day-to-day inside a fast-moving, mission-driven organization. It’s been fun having him around and giving him a behind-the-scenes look at what we do. Happy National Intern Day! #NationalInternDay #WorkShield #InternLife #FirstIntern

If your reports have gone from open to anonymous, the data is speaking, but are you listening? When employees stop speaking up openly and start submitting reports anonymously, it's likely that something has shifted in your organization, and not always for the better. 🎥 Director of Investigations Renee L. Harris breaks down what this behavioral shift could mean, and why it's a signal leaders shouldn't ignore. #WorkShield #MisconductManagement #WorkplaceMisconduct
