Meet Eli Chandler, our Financial Planning and Analysis Intern from Purdue University. He shares how Toyota's mentorship program has shaped his internship experience this summer. "The Toyota mentorship program has transformed my experience by allowing me to gain a perspective of the whole business, rather than a single business unit. I've had multiple meetings with individuals across the product, pricing, sales, and more throughout the summer that have helped me gain extremely valuable knowledge that I've applied to my role in finance." Recently, THD’s THDA Assembly Team won the Toyota Industries North America (TINA) regional Quality Control Circles (QCC) competition against six other TINA companies. This annual event aims to unite associates to improve processes, solve quality issues, and foster associate development. The team was successful in eliminating their highest-occurring internal defect—the THDA40/60 engine door misalignment and subsequent rubbing on the chassis. This fix not only improved throughput but also had a direct impact on customer quality. Now, the winning team, which consists of Matt Cok, Josh Delgado, Hide Miyashiro, Tom Dahlen, Tarrence Montgomery, Azusa Yamazaki, Rachel Rivas, and Yuki Tsutsuki, will travel to Japan to compete against 18 other TICO organizations from around the world! Congratulations on this incredible achievement and best of luck in Japan!

In partnership with Make-A-Wish Ohio, Kentucky & Indiana, we were honored to sponsor 13-year-old Harper Booram, whose wish is to visit Hawaii. 🌺 🌴🥥 With the incredible support of family, friends, and our community - including two sold-out golf tournaments and several auctions, we were able to make that dream a reality. Harper's wish was granted at our annual CEO for the Day event, where Toyota Associates welcomed her and her family with open arms. It’s a privilege to play a role in shaping unforgettable experiences for children and the people who love them. We hope you have an incredible trip to Hawaii, Harper!

We believe the most impactful giving begins with personal connection. That’s the spirit behind our Executive Giving Program—a longstanding initiative that empowers leaders to champion causes that resonate deeply in their own lives. By contributing not only funding but also time, talent, and personal experience, TMH executives bring our core purpose of Helping People Carry the Load to life in a way that is deeply human and profoundly meaningful. In 2025, the impact of this program came into sharp focus through Dan Kossow’s participation and his heartfelt support of the American Heart Association. Dan’s wife, Tess, was a healthy 37-year-old mother, marathon runner, and entrepreneur when she experienced sudden cardiac arrest—an unexpected trauma that changed everything. Tess had no warning, no known risk factors, and no time to prepare. She collapsed while being transferred between hospital floors, went into full cardiac arrest, and was placed in a medically induced coma. Through the fast action of hospital staff, defibrillation, and CPR, she survived. But the journey that followed—physically, emotionally, and spiritually—reshaped how Dan and Tess view life, parenting, and community. Tess, now living with heart disease, has become a voice of awareness and strength, sharing her story to help others better understand the invisible and indiscriminate nature of cardiac conditions. The American Heart Association provided the Kossow family with vital information, research, and reassurance during their most vulnerable moments. Through the Executive Giving Program, Dan chose to give back to this organization that had given his family hope. In doing so, he honored not only Tess’s recovery but also the millions of families impacted by heart disease. “As a part of the Toyota Material Handling team, I am personally grateful for the opportunity to live out our core purpose of helping people the carry the load through the Executive Giving Program. My family has benefited from the research and knowledge that the American Heart Association brings to our society. It was rewarding to give back to an organization that has helped my family!”– Dan Kossow | Director of National Accounts & Heavy Duty Sales, Toyota Material Handling
